@overcomer is there such a thing as a mega-epic? 😛 I’m afraid that’s what I write. It’s actually a bit annoying, sometimes— I really admire strong, simple storytelling, but I can’t seem to keep anything simple to save my life. 😉

@overcomer no problem. Ooh an Epic!?! Good luck. I have only just reach novellettes so I still have a distance to go. 😉 Yes, long books are great, but I still fly through them in one day. Some in half a day.:)

I think it would actually be easier if I wrote in third instead of first for me, because then if the character is a girl, I won’t be trying so hard to make her NOT like me. @Bluejay I don’t necessarily think you need to include the song itself, but a description of the music would be nice. Just it’s tone— melancholy, cheerful, stirring? What’s it sound like? Oh, sorry @bluejay . I must have misread your comment the first time. Thanks for the low-down, though. I didn’t know all of the numbers yet. 🙂 Someday I must write an epic! I love long books, so long as the plot is deep and intricate enough to need that much developing.

I think you could totally use it, @hope . There is a book I like called, “The Choosing: A Seer Novel.” There are other books already called “The Choosing” so the author added a definition/series thingy to hers. That makes it stand out. That’s one way to do it. Or you could just use the same title by itself. That can be rather tricky though…[Read more]

@hannah-c , if planning consists of writing lots of disconnected tidbits about my characters (to get to know them better) and the story before actually beginning the first draft, and then writing lists of main story events in order that I end up scrapping or reworking, then yeah, I do it. 🙂
