Hope Ann replied to the topic NaNoWriMo in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 4 months ago
@emily-d I did NaNoWriMo for the first time last year, though I’d done some camps before that. It’s a great way to get a lot done on a single project and it’s fun to be working with others with similar goals. The one major tip I would give is to figure out beforehand how much you need to do each day to get done in the month. That way you can work…[Read more]

So, I said a while back in this topic that I was preparing for a piano exam. Well, it’s happening tomorrow! (12th May, 9:50 AEST) I’m pretty nervous, but am trying to trust the Lord for strength.
Please pray that I will rely on Him and that I would give the glory to Him. 🙂 -

Thank you to everyone who prayed for Heather. She said she was able to answer all the questions. She doesn’t have her results yet, but it thankful it’s over. 😉

@delightinlife EST. I guess that does make a difference. 😛 Though I do have to go now. I’ve edited about two and a half chapters! Good luck!

Hope Ann replied to the topic Ben-Hur: Book, Charlton Heston, or Morgan Freeman? in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 4 months ago
@His-Instrument I like the book the best. I never really cared for the Charlton Heston Ben-Hur, though I did like the newer version. The ending I felt was a bit rushed, but I did like the changes they made, especially with the Judah/Messala storyline.

@His-Instrument the book. Definitely the book. I didn’t care for the Charlton Heston movie (possibly just because I really don’t like Charlton Heston) and I haven’t seen the newer one, but my parents saw it and said it was nothing special.
I love the book though. It’s definitely worth reading, even reading again, which is high praise for a book…[Read more] -

@That_Writer_Girl_99 yeah, I like the movies, but they have absolutely nothing on the books. I’d really recommend you read them. I won’t say they’re perfect but since I’m a writer I don’t think I’ll ever find a perfect book and those come pretty close.

@His-Instrument well @Ethryndal and I discovered recently that I’m Luthien Tinuviel and I have dark hair but I’m not from Rivendell. 😀 The Girdle of Mellian, I think… 😉

@GracieGirl Whoo-HOO! *claps you on the shoulder* It’ll be all right. XD Who was your favorite?
But I’m gonna say, wait till you read Les Mis. It’s even better. (Though a different sort of story, I know.) -

I’m going to go make dinner now. I edited two chapters, and got an idea for a way to fix the analogy. Thanks everyone!

@winter-rose Augh! I know. Writing it was so much more fun that sitting and using red pens.

@audrey-caylin @that_writer_girl_99 Actually, it’s already finished. You could say I’m editing the first draft. It stands at about 83,000 words, though I have major tweaking to do, because like you, Audrey, I have to incorporate some Christian themes into this thing, making it partway analogy. That has to be hardest part of this book. 😛
