Does your church believe this too, and does 5 mean that you don’t think parents will be held at all accountable for their children’s actions? I’m not trying to start a debate. I’m just curious.
You’re good, girl! I like discussions! Talking about what I believe is fun, tbh :3
Yes, we do believe in those 5 founding truths. Yes, nu…[Read more]

and not all Church doctrine is Biblically sound, either. But I’m not going to get into that.

*Assumption detector* Sorry 😅 I would like to stress real quick, belonging to a denomination doesn’t mean we believe church tradition is that important.
Plus, isn’t church doctrine an organized confession of Christian beliefs? It takes God’s word and summarizes it understandably. It’s just one way of professing and sticking to it. I’…

@whalekeeper You’re good. I understand you’re not trying to be rude <3
What did you do then?? 🤣
We stayed in a place of worship for two hours.
Yes, we sang and prayed and did worship for two hours without a sermon.
It was absolutely A M A Z I N G
y’all…like…I still don’t know what to say about it.
I felt God so close. People were…[Read more]

My grandparents (on Dad’s side) are Baptist and have been raised that way as far back as I know, and being in the South, most Christians I meet are Baptist, so I’m pretty familiar with Baptist beliefs…but I could still learn a whole lot more for sure!

I went to a church at a camp recently that I think was Non-Denominational. It was fun, but I was kind of confused by the lack of structure. XD
Understandable. Non-Denominational churches tend to be more lenient on how we do things, haha. This past Sunday, we didn’t even have a sermon because our pastor felt God lead him to not do so…[Read more]

it’s also interesting with my church though, because we’re renting it, basically.
The church building actually belongs to a Messianic Jewish church who use it on Saturday morning, we use it on Sunday Morning, and an African Pentecostal Church uses it on Sunday afternoons.
So it’s really interesting/fun to see all of us using the same building <3

@thearcaneaxiom Ty for understanding and for your kindness <3
I’m still here to kindly discuss things if anyone would like, just not for debate 😊
@theducktator Youth Group can be fun for sure! I have also gone to a more local church’s youth group (my actual church is 1 hour away from us, and we tend to have to be there at 9 AM on Sundays for…[Read more]

@theducktator I have never met an Anglican; that’s actually really cool!
Wellll, ok, it really depends on the Non-Denominational church.
I would say the church I attend is probably closer to Baptist, but there are also many variations of Baptist churches.
Simply put, a Non-Denominational church is a church that doesn’t belong to a specific…[Read more]

@trailblazer @whalekeeper @theducktator
Trailblazer is 100% right about what she said about Youth (although my church’s youth group is comprised of, like, maybe 6 kids on a regular basis??? And three of those are me and my siblings😅)
I am curious like Trailblazer, tbh! What kind of churches do y’all belong to? (and Trailblazer, too, what about…[Read more]

After some prayer and some reflection, I kindly request that we leave this debate where it stands.
I’ve been thinking on it too much, and truthfully gives me an ounce of stress I don’t need right now.
It’s also obvious that neither of us are going to change our stance, and KP isn’t the place to debate theology (in my opinion)…[Read more]

I’m a Youth Pastor’s kid😂
…Why not though? If an ancient prophet gave an opinion about something, and that’s recorded, does that invalidate the entirety of scripture? We know that prophets and apostles were imperfect men, take Peter, who straight up denied Christ 3 times! I just don’t see why it’s so all or noth…

@theducktator Yes, precisely!
@trailblazer Good! I always encourage researching, especially when it comes to the Bible. There are sooo many false teachers out there, so it’s always good to do your own research, read lots of Bible, and pray a lot ❤️

I also think we should be very careful to not put God in a box. He knows way more than we do…he can do so much more than we can ever do. We may be created in his image, but we are NOT God.
What seems impossible, silly, or even insane to us could be the exact thing God uses for his own glory.
God doesn’t belong in a box, and we shouldn’t…[Read more]

I’ve recently heard about how King James put his name in the Bible by naming the book of James when the guy who actually wrote it was named Jacob, among other alterations.
Something like that can also be lost in translation.
There is not an English equivalent to every Greek or Hebrew word, and I think we don’t really try to think a…[Read more]

@trailblazer @thearcaneaxiom @whalekeeper
I definitely agree with Whaley on this one. If you believe scripture is God breathed…if you believe that God is truth, then you either believe that it is ALL truth and not just the parts you want to believe or you deny it entirely.
We can’t just say that the Bible is full of flaws and yet still…[Read more]

@trailblazer Yes, Bryan Davis is amazing!! He’s one of my favorite authors, but my top is N D Wilson. I believe the quote I have on there is from Ashley Stalworth??? But I’d have to check XD I’ve had a similar time with writing, just able to get words on one of my stories while the others are somewhat stuck. We’re super busy and I just tore a…[Read more]
