My understanding of the difference between courtship and betrothal is that in courtship you have a formal time of getting to know each other on a deeper level and investigating the others beliefs to determine whether marriage is a good idea.

@sarah-h We held a silent auction (people write their bids rather then call it out) (business donated items) and had money raising games played during the night. It was a heap of fun and we raised around $2,120.

@sarah-h, I have no idea what the difference is. It’s something I have a lot of questions about, though, as it’s probably the most important decision you make in your life. Should you date? Should you kiss anyone before your wedding ceremony? Oh, so many questions… I say no to both those things as a personal standard, by the way. 🙂
