  • Hi Hope, it’s me, Daniel#2. The effect of such a weapon would be much like a stab from a white hot sword, ouch! As for appearance, that’s all relative to frequency. Depending on what materials are used, a laser beam can have a wide range of color and destructive properties. With a frequency of 3 terahertz or so, the laser beam would be invisible…[Read more]

  • That is excellent, Daeus! Did you mean to put a question mark after “How did the spies escape”? That is the only problem I can see.

  • Rolena, Daniel#2. On transportation. How about charging the metal body of their car with a couple million volts when necessary? It’s quite simple, all you need is a well placed Tesla coil under the back seat with the car’s body as a secondary capacitor! That would give anyone standing on the ground a mighty shock were they to touch the car when it…[Read more]

  • To Hope, Daniel#2. About laser weapons. A laser is produced by energizing ruby ( or other like material ) atoms with two charged particles at a time. LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. That must be a little hard to grasp, but you don’t need to. Technically, there is no scientific way to make a laser…[Read more]

  • Thanks Daeus, I really appreciate your criticism. In truth, no one has ever exceeded the speed of light. When answering anything dealing with photomechanical physics, one must always remember that matter and energy are related. Remember E=Mc^2? One consideration is that starlight from stars hundreds of millions of light years away is visible from…[Read more]

  • To Hope. It’s Daniel#2.
Here is a scheme for faster than light transportation from one planet to another.
If speed=distance/time, and mathematically at the speed of light time stands still, then take a look at these numbers.
186000=d/0. If the time variable is zero, and division by zero= imaginary number, then according to Einstein’s theory of…[Read more]

  • Daeus It’s me, Daniel. About drone bug power source. At such small size, a strategically placed capacitor could tap into the electrostatic fields surrounding it. The dielectric in the capacitor would store any electrostatic energy until it could be changed into a tiny current by the plates of the capacitor. If you want a more technical scheme,…[Read more]

  • Hi again to everyone whom this may concern. A little blurb about micro machines. Microminaturized nanotechnology has produced high revolution electric motors thinner than the diameter of a human hair. For your hackers, how about a chigger sized drill car that could float through the air like a piece of dust, navigate to a computer by finding its…[Read more]

  • Hi Rolena, I am Sarah’s brother, Daniel. I sent you the ideas last night.
On communication, your detectives could have microphones and earphones placed in the rims of their glasses. These communication devices could be linked to their Iflex or to the computer in their boots.
On belts. Also, several hundred feet of parachute cord ( very strong…[Read more]

  • My brother has some ideas:
Okay, how about a fleet of octacopter/quadrocopter spy drones linked via satellite or wireless hub to the detectives’ phone or watch. These drones could carry infrared/ultraviolet sensitive cameras, that are capable of spying into the cafeteria of a ten story building, or special multi-gigapixel cameras (that could zoom…[Read more]

  • I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get back.
Rosey, I will definitely try to find the Peleg Chronicles. They sound very interesting.
I don’t really remember why I stopped reading the Red Rock series. Maybe I should get them again.
    Frog and Toad is hilarious.
Has anyone read “Chasing the Dragon”? That’s probably the best missionary book I’ve ever read.

  • That’s an awesome poem, Kate!
I think it would flow better if you changed these lines a little:
“And the sword has lost all
    (Of) it’s sharpness.”
Or change “lost” into a two-syllable word.

“Be the battle ever so grim”: I would replace “battle” with a one-syllable word, like “fight”.

    Does that help?

  • Rosey,
David is probably my favorite character, too. And Ehud Schiff. How long did it take you to figure out who Montgomery was? I didn’t get it until she shot the Mossad agent.
What are the Peleg Chronicles about? You have made me very curious.

    Tatiana,
Oh, I like Viking Quest too! The ending was just right. Thanks for recommending An…[Read more]

  • I’ve wondered that too, but I couldn’t figure out how to make it work. If you ever do write such a story, Shiana, I would like to read it.

  • Sarah Hoven replied to the topic Recording Music in the forum Music 10 years, 8 months ago

Have you ever tried using GarageBand? That’s what my brothers and I used to put together the music for our opera. There’s an option on there called musical typing, where you can ‘play’ music on the computer keyboard instead of recording it. You can also record music, and layer tracks of different instruments. Is that what you are looking for?

  • The only story I’ve ever completed is historical fiction set in the Middle Ages.

  • Oh, thank you! I didn’t think you would put an ad like that there on purpose. Thank you so much for removing it.
