How do you bold and italic words? I haven’t been able to figure it out.

I like it a lot! It looks more professional now, I think.

That sounds interesting. What does she decide to do?

That’s neat! 🙂 What is your story about?

It’s a girl who loves singing, but suffers vocal cord paralysis and has to spend a couple weeks in silence and then months more without singing. She has to find something else to do with herself while facing the fear that she may never sing again.
I guess that’s kind of the messy simple version of it. 🙂

Hehe, that’s a good question and one I’m still working on, but basically, a friend challenged her to learn to use her “voice” other ways–and to focus on others’ joy rather than her own. So she’s helping her brother with an invention, learned something new about her grandmother, and I’m not sure what else yet…but that’s what I’m working on…[Read more]

@Sarah Hoven, my were’s are in the story granted their powers by God in order to fight demons and other evils that manage to invade the real world.
@Little Brown Dog – Spiritual warfare is not fantasy. It’s real. If you are going to write about spiritual warfare, God’s power, demons, etc., you need to do it the right way. The God that we serve d…[Read more]

@Little Brown Dog – I am concerned about the content of this scene. Does this bring glory to God? Will it draw your readers to Him? In reality, supernatural power can only come from two sources: God, and Satan. Any person or creature that derives supernatural power from a source other than God is evil. I believe it is dangerous to present, even…[Read more]

I’ve seen Valkyrie! It’s a great movie. I was very affected by it; especially at the end where Von Haeften steps in front of Stauffenberg at the firing squad.

Not for Kingdom Pen. My brother and I are creating a website about creation and evolution, and we’re kind of stuck on how to structure/ write the pages, articles, etc.

How does one write a website article? I have never learned how, and I have a strong suspicion that a five-paragraph essay isn’t going to cut it. 🙂 Is there a certain structure I should follow?

Thanks, Hope! Yes, I was specifically asking about that part, but if you see any other problems, please tell me. This is my first story, and I am sure it has many flaws. 🙂

Hi everyone! This is part of the second scene of my WIP. I have been told that the part in brackets is abrupt and unrealistic, but I’m not quite sure how to change it. Help!
Catrìona ran up the steps of Mà iri’s cottage and knocked on the weathered wooden door. The patch of violets and ferns beneath the front window glowed in the spring sun…[Read more]

Thanks, Daeus! I have one more question. Is there a way I can design my own logo all by myself? Do I need a special program to do it?

Sarah Hoven replied to the topic Introducing The Scratching Quill in the forum General Writing Discussions 10 years, 6 months ago
@Kate,
“Also you might consider designing yourself a logo (maybe just a cute little curly quill pen) that goes with the title.”
How do you design a logo? My brother and I are creating a website, and we want to have our own emblem. -

Daeus, – Daniel#2. No, a mirror can be used to reflect tiny semiconductor lasers in cd and DVD readers, but high energy high frequency lasers would destroy any materials that come in their path with radiation. Low frequency infrared lasers would just melt through it.
Hope, actually, a very strong very dense shield could absorb a few shots from…[Read more]
