Hi @C-C-Lane , welcome to the forum! The Black Arrow is one of my favorites, too. Aside from the slow middle section, it’s probably one of the best medieval books I’ve read. @overcomer – oh wow, thank you so much for recommending Study in Scarlet. I just finished it, and I will never see Sherlock Holmes the same way again. I really like his original character.

Oh, and as of this minute, Sign of the Four and Study in Scarlet are both free on iBooks. I hope they remain that way….

I’ve never read Study in Scarlet, but I have read most of the others, so I’m pretty well acquainted with the characters. I’m so glad we’re doing a Sherlock Holmes story! This is going to be fun. 🙂

Exactly! Some how, even in the serious life-threatening scenes, he is irrepressibly positive. And his name is absolutely perfect.

I’m pretty sure the cardinal is Virginia’s state bird, too. I wonder why they are so popular.
