@jadamae – Thanks for sending me your story! The past few days have been busier than I thought, but hopefully I will be able to finish it tomorrow. I’ve only read a few pages, but I really like it so far. 🙂

Hi @C-C-Lane , welcome to the forum! The Black Arrow is one of my favorites, too. Aside from the slow middle section, it’s probably one of the best medieval books I’ve read. Oh, and the book review starts next Monday, so you have plenty of time to join. We’re doing Sign of Four by Arthur Conan Doyle. 🙂

@Timothy-Young As a Christian, I would avoid writing alien fiction for several reasons. First of all, I second what Kate and Gabrielle said: aliens don’t exist, and writing about them as if they did does more harm than good, since there are cults who believe in and worship them. And now that the intelligent design of the universe is becoming…[Read more]

I’m interested! Beta reading is such fun. Here’s my email- I’ll break it up into sections so it doesn’t become a link:

@overcomer – oh wow, thank you so much for recommending Study in Scarlet. I just finished it, and I will never see Sherlock Holmes the same way again. I really like his original character.

Oh, and as of this minute, Sign of the Four and Study in Scarlet are both free on iBooks. I hope they remain that way….

I’ve never read Study in Scarlet, but I have read most of the others, so I’m pretty well acquainted with the characters. I’m so glad we’re doing a Sherlock Holmes story! This is going to be fun. 🙂

I know I already voted, but as a second-and-third-place vote I second Greta’s votes for Sign of Four or Treasure Island. *stares at word repeat* Yep. It’s past my bedtime for sure.

Oh my, and I thought we had it bad. Thanks for putting things into perspective. 🙂 What is South Africa’s climate spiritually? Is it hostile to Christianity, or not?

@overcomer – This summer the only thing I’m planning to write is poetry, so I probably won’t be participating much. Thanks for tagging me, though! 🙂

Exactly! Some how, even in the serious life-threatening scenes, he is irrepressibly positive. And his name is absolutely perfect.

COBALT!!! Without a doubt, most certainly and beyond comparison, Cobalt. It seems like he isn’t technically the main character, but at the same time he’s the life of the story. I don’t think I’ve come across a character like Cobalt before. @writefury How did you come up with him?

I finished it! Awesome job, Rosey. Is this the second book in a series? It’s different from what I read on your blog.

I’m pretty sure the cardinal is Virginia’s state bird, too. I wonder why they are so popular.

@sarah-h Did you ever get the impending writing project? 🙂
!!! Mommy brought it up again just this afternoon! She hadn’t said a word about it for months. It sounds like she wants us to do it on the now side of soon, so it shouldn’t be too long. 🙂
@bluejay
@sarah-h Keep me updated. Cause I’d love to write with you some time. 🙂
@bluejay I sure will! It’ll be fun. 🙂
@bluejay Since my schedule is so erratic it’s practically nonexistent, maybe I should try to write around yours. When do you usually write?
@sarah-h I generally write from 5-6pm (your time, I think). I’ve been a bit slack lately, and sometimes I only do half an hour. But I can also write from 7pm onward if that suits you better. But I’d probably only be able to do that time once a week.
@bluejay That’s great! I’m usually open then, too. 🙂
@bluejay I have some sad news- the writing project is off. It was supposed to be like an autobiography of the past few years of my life, which has been kind of difficult, and I just can’t make myself relive all that right now. I’m glad we got to write together a few times, though; that was fun. Maybe I will have another project in the future. 🙂
@sarah-h I understand. I think the project sounds very hard. I’m not sure I could do that. It was fun to write with you; I’m glad we got to do that. Let me know if you do. 😉
@bluejay I will. 🙂
