Oh, okay then.
Those books are cool, but they also have a lot of wacky things theology-wise.

Wow. Yup, Green Beret. He did die in the Middle East, but I don’t think it specified a place or operation.

I KNOW! When I was reading that I was like, “No way! This is what happened to –––” Except I don’t think Drew Carter’s dad died in Dessert Storm. And was he Special Forces?

That sounds a lot like Cloak of Light.

XD Well good! Glad it was helpful. Don’t worry too much over the whole “Gracious but this draft needs so much work” problem. You’ve already put in a ton of work and learned so much just to get to this point in the drafting process. You can do this! It’s worth it. (
plus, hey, we’re all in this thing too…writer’s are crazy)Just goes to…

Glad it was helpful. I have a possible idea for something that you could try for option three.
We knew a kid who was trying to go straight. His dad was Special Forces and died in Dessert Storm. His dad’s best friend was kind of a mentor to him tho and was trying to fill in as a father figure. None of them were Christian’s at this…[Read more]

So, I’m pretty much done with this cold, but now there is a stomach bug in the house. (I haven’t caught it yet thankfully) It’s DECEMBER and we haven’t spent a single month with no illnesses all year. I lost track of the number of illnesses we’ve had at around 7 or 8 in July, and I’ve had at least 3 since then, and there have been others I’ve…[Read more]

And I would like to throw in something that might be totally unrelated to what you’re dealing with, but it was a bit of a shock to me and had me seriously rethinking how I address certain topics in my books.
(Warning. Mentions of suicide.)
In my recent Psychology class we discussed aproaches to suicide awareness, and the results were mildly…[Read more]

Everyone else: Authors aren’t really like that last meme.
Me: *threatens to kill my sister’s favorite character if she won’t listen to me rant about my newest idea*

This is a very good question.
But I suppose it comes down to what the reader sees is going on and what the character sees–and those don’t have to be the same. In this case, shouldn’t be.
I’m in the middle of rereading Screwtape Letters. One of the letters tells about how that sin has pleasure attached, and how that pleasure actually…[Read more]

Hi Esther. I actually had something similar to deal with in one of my books as well. Here are the two things I would say to keep in mind that will most likely make the difference.
1. There can be a time where the MC believes a lie as long as it is shown to be a lie by the end of the book. (i.e. There are some rough consequences…[Read more]

Sorry it took me a while to reply. I’ve been neglecting KingdomPen (and some other things), as of late. Trying to get back into it.
Your drawing does look good! The hair does look like it is caught up in the wind. The scarf looks a little stiff, though. I might expect it to bulge a little with the wind. Other than that, it’s a good, clean drawing!

600+? That’s… a lot of characters… You’ve got a lot of patience.
How long did it take you to do just those 28?

Moth
It was Lois. Now without his metal man, and focused on the bountiful food spread, the boy gave Moth a friendly glance. His dark, curly hair framed a pair of glasses, and his eyes had the hollowed look of someone with a lot on their mind.
“I did. And you found yours?” Moth asked.
Lois nodded.
Moth nodded too. He had the pac…[Read more]
