@f5a8c3e92 It really depends on how you’ve done the rest of the novel really. It could easily be seen as a copy, unless you give it that unique aspect or feel. And you’re already pointed in the right way for that.

@f5a8c3e92 You’ve done a pretty great job with this whole thing! *applauds*
Although it does have a very ‘Harry Potter gets a letter from Hogwarts’ feel to it… 😛 -

@f5a8c3e92 sorry that I have been taking a while over critiquing your chapter. >.< I've been on holidays at my cousin's house so I kept getting interrupted when I was doing it. I'm working on it now though, and I'll go a little bit more of a rough once-over and get it done for you. Sorry that it's been so long though. D:

@f5a8c3e92 Yess that’d be a great idea. I think it would be cool to have a weird daydream and then hold it- it was real?? *nods*
Oh yep, that prologue is good.

@f5a8c3e92
Okay so I’ve put all my notes and critique points into a google doc (hopefully that works for you). I haven’t finished going through it yet (but I’ll keep going after I post this for you), but as far as I have at the moment I’m quite enjoying it. It had a cool prose style that I’m quite liking. Good job. *thumbs…[Read more] -

@Jess
I liked the layout and style of the workbook. It is true that over half of it was planning and the writing part only started at lesson forty-something (out of 70-ish), but that basically meant -for me- that I was well and truly ready for writing, and I knew completely what I was doing and where I was going with the novel before diving in. If…[Read more] -

@Dragon-snapper I had a little bit of this in the first book of my trilogy. But I was able to use the Snarky Adventurous character as a Foil and an important part of the MC’s character arc, so that occupied him enough not to have to be a main. (And then in book two I had him as the main protagonist so that worked out well)
As to having the MC…[Read more] -

@Jess alrighty… So basically.
1: Yes it is for beginners, but it has good ideas for structuring a novel, and everyone probably has something they could definitely learn from it.
2: The videos aren’t really cheesy, I don’t think, no. I did it several years back and actually quite enjoyed them. (You might get sick of the “What makes a story a…[Read more] -

@aratrea okay since I won’t be able to get there -because I’m away from home at my cousin’s place and her internet isn’t good enough to load videos- I’ll have to drop in any questions here probably. (I’ll do that later)
But I hope everyone else has fun!! (and feasts on pizza and ice cream and all that fun stuff) -

@ClaireC *slaps you on the back enthusiastically* GO CLAIRE, THAT’S GREAT!!
1. I’m a bit of a recklessly slap out a rough outline and then dive straight on into the writing. It works for me.
2. My outlines usually only take me a month at most when I’m just roughly plotting it out and not going into any huge depth or anything. (For example, I…[Read more] -
