And a bit from Book 2!
“Welcome, husband.” The woman by the fire stood up. She was beautiful in her own way. Her eyes were a honey gold and glowed with a quiet excitement. The hair that she brushed back under her hood was dark as night. Alyona thought she might be a few years younger than Clehan. A small child was perched on her hip, his head res…[Read more]

I am too suspicious about this connection to try to open another thread to do this… I think this is the right spot though.

I made it! I’ve been trying to get on all day. Had it “opening” during work which was slow today.
But I have made it. *gasp for breath*
Koshka and I are working on homework, so we’ll be on and off… As much as Wyoh lets us in.
*glares at Wyoh*
Be nice! I wrote some scenes I want to share for critiques.

Oh goodness. XD
Sypher
The white faced woman stood at the front of the room. Syph slowly followed suit. Guppies, but those shadowed eyes were unnerving. He dropped the pearly water twist he’d been fidgeting with. It dissolved into air before it reached the ground.
Outside? Back into the sunshine and fresh air?…[Read more]

@linus-smallprint
Yes. For some reason KP is glitching, so I actually can’t see what I’m typing. I’m just shooting blind and hoping I spell and type everything. It’s like typing while blind. This is kind of odd/cool/frustrating.
I was going to say, I didn’t know that proton did that with docs. -

Rory
Rory was silent as the two moved down the hall. Leo’s words had a strange draw to them, and he felt as though they were pulling at his very being. For some reason, freedom made him think of the building… church… and the picture in the glass. Peace and freedom. Two things he had never experienced––
Until now.
He hadn’t tas…[Read more]

Leo
Hmm. True freedom.
Leo waited for Rory to catch up, mind whirring. He took a breath to answer, then paused, looking for the right words. Slowly, carefully, he tried to explain.
“There are different kinds of Freedom. The political kind usually means liberty to pursue your own dreams and live your life, even make your own…[Read more]

Yes, he would.
Rory
Rory stared at Leo for a long moment, letting the older boy’s words play over in his mind. Leo turned to start down the hall, and Rory forced himself to keep up. “Leo…” he hesitated. “Leo, what is free? I know what my government says free is, but I think free means something different to everyone. At least, that’s…[Read more]

Poor kid. He’d probably think sidewalk chalk was a crime
Leo
“Agents?” Leo looked up from the tile. Rory was watching him with large, confused eyes.
“Eh, no. Not what you call Agents. There were–are–plenty of special ops soldiers in the army, but they weren’t murderers and kidnappers like your Agents. They were just…[Read more]

Ok. I sympathize.
I do not have a stutter, but I get seriously caught on words and/or forget the word I was about to say right as it’s ready to leave my mouth. Then I’m awkwardly staring at the person I was talking to while doing mental gymnastics. Or I just repeat scrambled phrases until the right one comes out. It’s gotten worse the…[Read more]
