@sarah-h Yeah, they’re really great. 😀

@sarah-h Wow, I just finished watching Bound, and it was amazing! It was so well animated! If you like LEGO stop motion movies, I recommend Shatterpoint Entertainment’s movies (they actually got released on DVD), especially Jericho: The Promise Fulfilled. That on was very well-made as well. 🙂

@sarah-h That sounds like a great goal to make.
No, I haven’t seen any of those movies, though I think we have Fireproof.
Filmmaking sounds really fun! I know of another girl whose family is doing that, too. 😀 -

@anne-of-lothlorien Interesting that you brought up “blasted.” I’m reading a series where the main character’s main “swear” word is Blast, and he’s clergy! 😀 The characters in this series have lots of little “sayings” they use when surprised or making a point. For example, a common one is “I’ll be ‘et for a ‘tater!” or, when encouraging others,…[Read more]

@julia-r Well, I’ve read some CYOA stories that were kinda fun (but they got old very quickly after going through all the possibilities) but other than that, I haven’t read a lot of second-person stories.

@sarah-h: Agreed, which is unfortunate. What kind of stories are you working on? I always love to read other peoples’ works (is that possible on here?), especially if they have the same goal of writing Christian fiction. 🙂
And what about Christian movies? From what I’ve found, they’re either very shallow or about sports – and to be perfectly…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien Whoa! Heaps of plots we have not yet encountered! (in case you didn’t know, @leumeister and I are siblings) 😀 We’re working our way through Odyssey in chronological order (we ordered them all! 😀 ) But we have heard the Nova Com saga, so we know about Mitch and Monica. I never really thought it to have a lot of romance – it’s…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien Haha, yes, that is a good point. 😀 I found this site that helps you to write a CYOA story, so I did, and I actually didn’t end up writing it in second-person. I wrote it in first, because I was parodying the Night Before Christmas poem (and if I may say so, I thought it rather hilarious XD)

@kate-flournoy Aha, so it’s like having first-person, but not focussing on one character. I think I do write in deep third-person, in some cases.

@Anne-of-Lothorien Aha, second-person. That is when it’s “You do this” as opposed to “I did this” or “He did this”, right? I have written a Choose Your Own Adventure story for my friend once, and I used second-person, then I took it and turned it into first-person and started making it into a proper story, rather than a CYOA. But most CYOAs use…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy: What do you mean by deep third-person? How is that different to regular third-person?

Hello! Welcome to KP, what is known as the “bestistest” place on the interwebz! 😀 I, too, am fairly new, but I feel right at home in this “community” of writers, and I hope you will too!

I prefer third-person, reading and writing, though I’m not strictly a third-person-reader or writer. But it depends on who or what the story is focussing on whether you writer in first- or third-person, and what kind of a mood you want to set, because the different POVs do set different moods. With first-person, it gives you the chance to explore…[Read more]

@mark-kamibaya That quote sounds familiar, though I don’t know for sure where I’ve heard it. Is it from God’s Not Dead?

Rereading the line, the way to describe it was that it didn’t seem frivolous or just thrown in there for the sake of a curse word, but it was actually describing something, in this case, dead spirits returning to the graveyards (see why I cut the line? 😀 )

@daeus That’s another great point. I know I wouldn’t want to use a curse word from a script. The only time I’ve used what might be considered a curse word in a script was the d-word, but the context it was in wasn’t so much cursing, if you know what I mean? I’m not sure how to describe it, but if I had felt it was cursing, I’m fairly certain I…[Read more]
