Enid replied to the topic Writing out of chronological order? in the forum Plotting 3 years, 12 months ago
It depends on how immersed I am, and how much random-scene writing I’ve already done. I think it’s a balance. Personally, if I’m not particularly inspired to write a certain section, I’ll write something more emotional, and it gets me in the mood. On the other hand, it’ll get to a point where I’m just avoiding the rougher sections.…[Read more]

Enid replied to the topic Scene from my WIP, would like to know what you all think! 🙂 in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years ago
1. I’m not used to omniscient POV, but once I figured it out it went smoothly 😄
2. It was definitely obvious to me that it is a brother-sister kind of thing, like Koshka said. Since I don’t see this relationship as often in fiction anymore, applause to you!
3. Just a little, but I wouldn’t remove it completely. Maybe spread it out thinner,…[Read more]

Understandable 😂
Asdfghjkl… *unintelligible noises, frantic looking through the pages of my mind*
😅 I’m not quite sure a normal human life exists in this world. Even his backstory is foggy to me. I know where he used to live, and it’s not… unpleasant, but it’s still controlled by giants. I’m sure there’s some distant location in the world w…[Read more]

@mineralizedwritings Thank you! ❤ When you put it that way, maybe it’s YA instead. I usually write middle grade, and because Axel’s thirteen, I just put it in that catagory. I’m intending violence, injuries, and possibly death. It’s obviously in that darker territory. However absolutely no swearing or gross stuff.
Everyone keeps AsKiNg mE ThAt.…[Read more]

@rose-everdeen Thank you for the tip, that actually really helps! *Facepalm* I should have thought of that sooner… Anyways, that’s perfect! 🙂

In between hisses – “What’d Ronan say about the big leagues?”
Axel grunted with effort, trying to hold Jackal down. The two froze. Then grappled furiously in the dust.
Back, then forward, and back again in cycle.
“Why do you even have to ask?”
Jackal gave a lopsided grin and threw his left fist in reply.
Cocky kid. Would lose a tooth t…[Read more]

XP I’m just kidding. Character deaths are unnecessary like, 99% of the time. Same with resurrections. The characters will be relatively safe in my hands 🙂

The crowd seems to be adamant… hm… *stares into the future* I’m nowhere close to the end, but I shall consider freedom… death could be interesting too, tho…
@queen_of_alvastia Sure, no problem XD Are there any requirements?

This was the Metal City.
Teetering over the edge of the mountain.
“A hybrid of old giant magic, and new technology,” Doug Ronan used to say, back when he liked to talk. “One of those Frankenstein things, you know?”
“What’s Frankenstein?”
“Never mind.”
Axel imagined it as a shapeless mass, not too big, but full of little secret ent…[Read more]

Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to write consistently the last two years, and it’s beginning to pay off, I think 😛
XD Somehow that made me laugh. Their personalities get more distinct later on, so right now your opinion makes sense. (Still trying to decide)
Thanks! Ah, that I shall not reveal…[Read more]

Hiii! 🙂 This is the first chapter of a new pet project of mine, dubbed ‘Hazel Heart,’ for the present. Things to know:
1. First, and therefore trashy, draft. Like, I’ve barely even touched it since then. Expect a few unexplained things and bad pacing. It’s super short, because my first drafts are always shorter than the finished product. (Idk,…[Read more]

@ava-blue CoOlNeSs!! I felt that way, but feedback is a great steering tool. Thanks for the tips 😋
I think I’m going to share some writing from this project this afternoon, actually 😉 As long as it doesn’t need too much editing 😂

I’ve never heard the term AU before, but yes, I DO now that I think about it 😂
In one, instead of being in a 1930s era and isolated from the rest of humanity (viz: no family), Sebastian is in a royal core kingdom as an ambassador, and finds a temporary family of sorts with a prince and princess there. It’s actually a roleplay I’m doing with the…[Read more] -

The title says it all. My relatively new WIP (a steampunkfantasy-ish novel, which is coming so naturally ❤) is going for a more subtle theme, and from the looks of it, my MC isn’t actually going to have a strong, bad misbelief. It’ll only be there after the second part starts.
Think Sara from A Little Princess. (1010, by the way 😍) She isn’t…[Read more]

That’s so fun, I can totally imagine that as a screenplay! 😂 A double POV is always really fun to work with, especially when the MCs are opposites. So much opportunity for conflict… *Evil author cackle* (And that is DeFiNiTeLy not long, compared to some rambles I’ve readwritten)

@loopylin Hi! I’m WhaleKeeper, although you can call me… You know what, I don’t have any nicknames yet because I’m super new myself 😂
