I know you asked Kathleen, but if you don’t mind, I may be able to be of assistance:) I used to have that trouble all the time with the green bars.
In the bar above the text board when you write replies, there’s a quotation mark. Press that and it will move your selected text over and when you post it, that bar shows up:)

@nanisnook I know what you mean because it takes me FOREVER to name my characters! XD What I often do, though, is write “[insert name]” when I don’t know a character name and then come back later to fill the name in. 🙂
