@dragon-snapper I have been looking into Patrick Henry College… I think I want to go into law, so maybe Liberty after that. (@aratrea, don’t you attend PHC or something?) I hear they are a good, smaller school. Does anybody know anyone who is a lawyer and maybe has some tips for pre-college? Thanks 🙂 (I’m homeschooled so I can take whatever…[Read more]

@brandon-miller Hi! Looks like everyone else asked all the questions I was wondering. So, welcome and looking forward having you around! 🙂

@aella I am guessing you mean posting the word count for each day in November? Then, yes, I could do that. It would be good motivation 🙂 I am kind of doing okay prepping. One resource I found very helpful for organizing random thoughts was stormboard.com It’s more for businesses, but the random thoughts for world building and such go nicely there.

That’s awesome @rolena-hatfield! It definitely made me want to read more. It was an intriguing start. One thing I would change: you say “When I looked back up, a small form had crept to the doorway. She clutched the doorpost and her eyes searched mine with great concern. The owner’s daughter.” I would change the order of the last two sentences. 🙂

When you do a quoting contest to see how many quotes you can remember from your favorite books. 😀 -
Jess replied to the topic Where do I start my novel? in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 8 years, 1 month ago
I personally like starting with the fourth idea. I think the first should be used as a flashback. The second and the third are good background information to be revealed throughout the first part of the novel. I like all the ideas though! Best of luck!

@dragon-snapper sorry, I don’t have battery on my computer and I don’t have the possibility to plug it in. I will be writing later though so I’ll tag anyone who wants me to then!

@r-e-p Hi and Welcome! tags alert the person you want, made with an @ sign. Most people’s tags are the same as their name, for example: mine is @jess. Others, like Mallory, are different: @overcomer. Sort of like twitter. You can click on a person’s pic and their “handle” will be right under their name. I understand about the Lymes and…[Read more]

Well, just for the record, I always did like dark hair. (I have rather dark brown hair, and when I was little I wanted really dark hair) And I agree with @daeus about being mean to characters XD. @emma-flournoy @kate-flournoy

Okay, I know the topic name is a strange one, but really, what terrible things have you or a sibling done when you were little? Or even somewhat plausible made-up things. I’m kind of on a time crunch, so help!!! (Please 🙂 ) Preferably, they should be funny when you look back at it. (Yes, this does have something to do with my writing.)…[Read more]
