I read Summer of the Swans a couple of days ago. 1970 middle-grade children’s fiction about a girl during puberty and her autistic brother. I thought it was a sweet, quick read. I haven’t touched a book like that in literal years, so it kind of brought me back to when I was a kid.

@kathleenramm (Realistic!) Ooh, I read the first book of All the Wrong Questions a long time ago. Never got around to the others, though.
@lewilliams Professor Layton! Never played but I do know about him.
@abigail-m She’s my dad’s favorite English author! I highly recommend And Then There Were None!

@gracie-j According to Google, the definition of mystery is: “a novel, play, or movie dealing with a puzzling crime, especially a murder.”
I haven’t read that many mysteries in my lifetime, but I did enjoy the ones which I did read. I think that a good mystery is one which allows the reader to guess at what is going to happen, and make it…[Read more]

@ugroza Fun topic! Ahh I have way too many characters…and I do like all of them to some degree…
I feel like the more complex my character is, the more I like them, but I also feel like half the time it’s only pity. There are ones which are fun to write, of course. Hmm…
I’ll have to think about this for a little while! Who is your favorite…[Read more]

@gracie-j Your collages look fantastic! I really like the frames you chose for the quotes for your characters.
Here is a collage for a short story of mine that I’ll probably ask for critique on in the near future…

@gracie-j Aight here is the playlist I just made for one of my short stories, “I Hid Beneath My Umbrella So the Adults Wouldn’t See Me Cry”, which is a mouthful so I just call it “Umbrella”. I tried to order it best I could with transitions that match the mood as well as songs that matched the different parts of the story.

Y’know I think maybe we should create a new Writer’s Corner…this one seems to be glitching…

@writerlexi1216 If the folder button isn’t working, then it’s probably a bug. Otherwise, you could try pinning your image to Pinterest and then using the URL.

@gracie-j To be completely honest, creating collages and stuff have helped me to get to know my characters a little bit better, since usually they’re just an idea until I start developing them on paper. To me, we’re like two strangers until I start writing them, haha.

@seekjustice It does have a lot of good themes! Really helped for my class, since they were easy to remember.

@gracie-j Ah…here is one of my first attempts at making a good-looking aesthetic…for one of my villains/main characters in one of my newer WIPs…

@godlyfantasy12 You want transitions…welp, I just watched a semi-detective movie, so maybe you’d want some action scenes? Maybe some people who don’t want her to be on the case can come and threaten her or something? At least, if I were you, I’d add more opposition from several different parties. But that’s just me. *glances at WIP with 3…[Read more]

@nova21 I read the first two books and have the third one on my shelf but never touched it. XD I think maybe I read them too young, so I didn’t like it very much.
