@lydia-s Sure thing!! Lemme know what you think of you ever read it! The Viking Quest series is also a fantastic series with amazing sibling relationships in it T_T<3 I first read that series when I was 13 and I still adore it XD

I’m doing The Writer’s Conservatory! (It’s a three-year college alternative program that teaches students how to write well and on a deadline, how to publish independently and traditionally, and helps you start a small business) They count the program as a credit in English and a credit in business. 🙂
You’d think with how smart technol…[Read more]

Oh, thanks for the recommendation! It’s so nice to see good relationships in novels.
I’ve never watched LOTR, but I’m a huge fan of it! Sam is just… *chef’s kiss* XD -

@lydia-s There’s one book series I really loved called the Lost Island of Tamarind by Nadia Aguiar and it has some great sibling relationships, as well as really creative world building in general. I really loved it, although personally I’d rate it pg-13 for violence (and I think a d-word) but it wasn’t too bad. (If you’ve ever watched Lord of the…[Read more]

Oh, awesome! I’ll have to pop in and do that. Thank you so much for letting me know! 🙂 <333
Agh, yessss… I honestly can’t think of that many books that include siblings, let alone in a positive manner. Which is honestly very, very sad. :'(

Hello, my friend! Hope you’re doing well. 🙂 Idk if you remember the AIO podcast chat page, but Naomi from there was wondering about you. Here’s the link (https://www.adventuresinodyssey.com/podcast/video-podcast-avery-awards-team-edition-best-moment-in-the-studio/), but no pressure to hop on if it’d be stressful! Exactly! I’m hoping to be able to work my writing into this next school year. It would be a whole lot easier to stay in touch with my stories if I was required to and earned high school credits off of it. XD
Hahaha, I feel you!!! Apple maps is the same way, unfortunately. I guess Madagascar isn’t the worst place to end up, though.…[Read more]

How cool! I actually haven’t read anything from those authors yet. Hopefully, I can do that during my senior year. 🙂
Ooo, exciting!!! I’m probably too late to submit a question, but I hope you got a bunch. 🙂 I can’t wait to see where you take this novel, girl! <333

Lydia S. replied to the topic How do you draft/write the "first" document? in the forum General Writing Discussions 2 years, 8 months ago
Ah, this is embarrassingly late, but here I am anyway! 😉
My drafting process is a bit odd. Generally, I know how the story begins, and I know how the story or even series ends. Random scenes from the middle pop into my head at random times, but most of it is pretty blurry. The story usually works itself out on its own. I just…[Read more]

You and me both, girl!!! I haven’t sat down to write for… oh, a few months now… 😬 Most of my writing happens during spare moments on my phone. If I’m writing on my computer, it’s usually for school. 🙁 Hopefully, that will change here soon. 🙂
So I’m not the only one who’s gotten lost! I’ve ended up in Madagascar several times…[Read more]

@koshka (Pfft same XD I have a few plans, but we’ll see where that goes)
Ahhh yesss. Charry crushing is so much fun, isn’t it XD
Oh that’s cool!! I’m trying to get myself better at world building and cultures. It’s not my least favorite thing about writing, but it’s not entirely my favorite either XD

@godlyfantasy12 Great question!! Honestly I’m still figuring out new tricks myself, but I typically start with a Pinterest board and a music playlist. That gives me the aesthetic and character personalities. Then from there I do a bit of rough outlining and figure out the main story line, usually consisting of the beginning, middle, and end of…[Read more]

Those are all really good points! I agree that Rochester wasn’t ready for marriage until he’d changed (Side note: their reunion was incredibly sweet). St. John certainly contrasted him! Honestly, I reall…[Read more]

Yeah, I’m a big fan of the classics! I take a pretty intense literature program, so I get to read a lot of them. 🙂 Some of the ones we’ve read this year are Don Quixote, Paradise Lost, Frankenstein (that was quite the book), and Robinson Crusoe. Last year, we did Shakespeare (among other stuff, including The Once and Fut…[Read more]
