@that_writer_girl_99 I would imagine the same way Smaug’s did. WHICH was never explained. Fortunately, @Dragon-Snapper is way smarter than Smaug.

@that_writer_girl_99 Elves never jump to conclusions. 😛 But yes, I’m pretty sure it works just fine on family members. Note the blood on it. (It’s a magic, Elven hammer. Doesn’t kill people.)

@Dragon-Snapper Or dragons, I’d imagine. Unless you’re missing a scale.

@That_writer_Girl_99 It works on people, but not elves. 😛

@Aratrea I don’t think the finality of death had ever hit her before. She was always too worried about dying for the sake of a mortal to think about it the other way round, so when ‘died’ because of her, it startled her. It was something she’d never considered.

@kate-flournoy Yes, it’s legal. Ideas aren’t copyrighted, only the organization of those ideas. So if you were to create your own course basically copying everything we say, that would be a copyright violation, but pretty much anything less than that is totally fine.
It’s actually good promotion for us. 😛
Some day I’m going to release you on…[Read more]

@That_Writer_Girl_99 okay so first of all, I read through the posts that I did last night and realized my brain must have been working on a low battery because they were very scattered, so thank you for sticking with me. 😛
How much do you know about character arcs?
And while I wait for you to answer that question, we can have a little talk…[Read more]

@FeedingMyGoldfish Hey, thanks! I’ll take a look. I’ve looked up how to sound fiddly so many times…I’m self taught so most of my info comes from where I can find it online. But nothing I’ve read about fiddling has stuck well. I want to be able to play like a violinist and a fiddler. 😛
Specifically Irish is good. I like Irish/British style…[Read more] -

@FeedingMyGoldfish Oramentation, aka grace notes. Right? Some of them at least. Those things are so fun, for violin and voice.
And you used to FIDDLE? *gasp* Please, tell me how I can make my violin sound fiddly! -

@That_Writer_Girl_99 I’ll be praying for you too.
@Ethryndal Link to song…on page 21…pay attention. XD
Thanks for the prayers and congratulations everyone. Kate did awesomely, and so many people came and said afterwards, “She was singing with so much VIGOR!” 😀

@feedingmygoldfish Ah…it’s quite complicated actually. I did some minor singing for a children’s group when I was a lot younger, then for a while I didn’t do much singing. Now, I only sing with guitar. However, I have no training, and I don’t do it regularly either. But there’s a problem when I sing as a dragon. I tend to melt stuff. 😛

@FeedingMyGoldfish nice! That’s great that your mom could teach you. My mom taught me piano and basically began my musical ‘career’. 😉
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be called ornamentation. What do you primarily like to sing?
I have preferences, but if I’m honest I’ll pretty much sing anything that has the faintest suggestion of a good tune, with…[Read more] -

@moriahs Ok; cool. I think that you could turn protecting a family heritage into a meaningful plot if you showed why achieving that goal was important to the MC’s personal development. That being said, if your goal with your story is to show the costliness of freedom, I agree that a different central plotline would be better to display that theme.…[Read more]

Okay so I’m curious. How many singers do we have on here, and how many of those actually have some vocal training?
I don’t. 😛 I sing because I love it and I can’t help it. Several years ago I looked up some basic mechanics tutorials on Youtube and learned about proper breathing and voice control, but that’s about it. - Load More
