Rolena Hatfield started the topic Blogs: What Would You Like to See More of? in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 4 months ago
Hey KeePer friends!
I’m doing a bit of research/learning on the topic of blogs. And ya’ll are always my most helpful resource when it comes to learning. 🙂 I’ll limit my questions to two right now… (though I could bombard you with about a gillion :p)Let’s imagine your ideal blog. It’s your favorite blog to return to time and time again.

@dragon-snapper *randomly pops in* Whoa! That is so good! I love how he’s laughing in the bottom one—I can practically hear it.
And thanks for compiling the characters. @graciegirl, I think I’m going to try Nykkai.

@kate-flournoy *has confidence in abilities* Well that makes me happy.
@delightinlife Sometimes when I’m writing short stories, I find that it helps to just forget about word limitations and write how you want. Then, when you’re done, you can go back through and carefully weed out any extraneous words or parts. And it might behoove you to ditch…[Read more]

@Emily-D Hi Emily! First of all you should know that NaNoWriMo is extremely fun! Everyone has given great tips! (especially about letting your family know what’s really going on. Apparently I didn’t explain how /much/ I would be writing well enough to my family the first year I did NaNoWriMo. Suddenly they were very concerned about me becoming a…[Read more]

@emily-d You don’t have to read a mountain of books. The more you can read the better, but 5-10 could get you by. Reading sci-fi to learn about it is different than writing yourself into it. You’ll never know the full potentials of your genre or be able to avoid the way overused cliches unless you read the genre.

Louise Fowler replied to the topic Chapter Titles in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 4 months ago
@dragon-snapper I don’t mind when there are chapter titles in books. I don’t make chapter titles for mine, simply because I can’t really be bothered thinking of any. Really, it’s up to the person writing if they want to add chapter titles – I don’t think it adds or takes anything away from the story 🙂

@DragonSnapper Chapter titles all the way! But only if they’re good ones. Which the standard for would vary with different people. 😛 No blatant spoilers, and only titles that make sense. I love good chapter titles, but if they’re dull and irrelevant then I’d rather not see them at all. When you do have chapter titles, aside from it providing…[Read more]

@delightinlife Muahahaha—*chokes* Ahem. Please keep in mind that I’m not the most experienced writer, and emotions are one of the things I struggle with, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. But I am reading a book about writing emotions, so here’s what I’ve learned from it so far.
First of all, writing your own emotions into Josiah…[Read more]
