Lin replied to the topic Writing out of chronological order? in the forum Plotting 3 years, 6 months ago
@joy-caroline I usually write from beginning to end of a book unless there’s a pressing scene I wanna write, though those scenes aren’t necessarily in chronological order. It just gives me a better sense of progression than jumping around, though ofc you’re free to do whatever you want.

Lin replied to the topic Does anyone else write sci-fi? in the forum Sci-Fi 3 years, 7 months ago
@microphage6032 It’s about a guy who’s brother becomes a serial killer so he goes out to find him, but the only problem is everyone thinks he’s his brother. A retelling of the prodigal son, Cain and Abel, etc. It’s set on a different planet and there’s some things here and there but otherwise not too many sci-fi elements in it.

Lin replied to the topic Writing AUs of your own stories in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 7 months ago
@ava-blue Yea, I have a cyberpunk AU for one, and school AUs for others, but I only really work on them when I’m super bored.

@microphage6032 Sounds a little like Cells at Work, heh. Right now I’m working on a sci-fi novel, though I wouldn’t necessarily call it full sci-fi or my main genre.

Issabelle Perry replied to the topic Looking for feedback on a crucial scene! in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 7 months ago
Sure, girl! I’d LOVE to help you out if I’m able! (Conversational scenes are some of my favorite so I’m very excited!!!!) Anyway, the email you know of mine works great for me (I’d rather not put it here where everyone can see it, but if you don’t remember it, then I can share my author email instead.)

R.M. Archer replied to the topic Self publish… HEEEELP in the forum Publishing & Platform 3 years, 8 months ago
I use Amazon/KDP. It’s been really easy and straightforward to use; my only complaint is that I don’t like having to support Amazon’s values by working with them. XP
I like the character/integrity of Vervante (an independent print-on-demand service), but they will cost you an arm and a leg; that’s why I didn’t publish with them,…[Read more]

Issabelle Perry replied to the topic Pacing Problems – Help? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 8 months ago
So I might not be getting the problem *exactly* correct, but if you’re having a hard time with the pacing of your story, I’m gonna recommend to try plotting it out. Plotting doesn’t have to be all that complicated at all! Basically, there are certain major points that need to happen in every story besides just beginning, middle, and…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic I Found the MERCH! (Was I supposed to?) in the forum Questions and Support 3 years, 8 months ago
Woah, how did you find it? There must have been some runaway link somewhere or something lol.
You didn’t miss it, you found it early! 😂 I’m still finishing up all the details of the shop, but the merch will be officially out very soon!

@lrose5 Good luck with that! Glad everything worked out.

@lrose5 As long as you haven’t given them your credit card information I think you can wait until your trial’s about to end and then downgrade. You should be fine, they ought to send you emails about it.

Lin replied to the topic Newsletters? in the forum Publishing & Platform 3 years, 8 months ago
@lrose5 Oof I see..I think I ran into the same problem, lol. Google says, and I quote: “In the Billing tab of your ‘Account Settings’, click the Downgrade button.” Try that?

Lin replied to the topic Newsletters? in the forum Publishing & Platform 3 years, 8 months ago
@freedomwriter76 Thanks! I haven’t been as active lately so I don’t have any tag chunks to work with, lol.
@lrose5 Ah, nice. I don’t like blogging so I really only do newsletters as my minimal part of marketing, lol. Highly recommend ConvertKit, it’s really easy to use, and then I just send one out at the end of every month detailing what I’ve done, etc.

@freedomwriter76 Hehe thanks. I have used the name Elias several times, lol.
@lrose5 Ah thank you! (Ngl these two appear probably the least in the whole work) but I’ll do my best to develop them in the second draft (whenever that is)

*too lazy to tag anyone and just hoping that people will see this in the recent topics thing*
Aight, why don’t we all go around, and say all the bad things we’ve ever done, and— Okay, no. Why don’t we all go around and share our newsletter links and sub to each other? Y’know, help some writers out. Or blogs. Idk.
Anyways, here’s m…[Read more]
