Just wondering… Does anyone else do this?
While researching some stuff for school about Soviet era factories, I ran into The Picture. I’ve had this picture saved on my phone for years because the girl in it struck me in that “Story Detector” bit of my brain. I don’t know who she really was, or if I’ll even ever write her story as I hear it…[Read more]

Winifrith has come to share a lot of my own struggles just as she shares a similar background. Because of this development, she’s been in my head lately. After getting splatted by you, I mentioned doing my next defense as her. 🙂

I was thinking, and I’ve decided to leave Leo and Team in the RP. This semester is almost over so I’ll have the time again. I really like these charies dynamics right now.

Ah, I’m glad then.
Well, I’m not an expert either, but I have been poking around in Slavic stuff (especially Russian) for going on five years now, so I can at least find answers should you need them.
Like I’d probably go to you with WWII questions. There’s a lot of stuff there that I don’t enjoy dredging up. XD

*stumbles from beneath an insurmountable snow ball*
I LIVE!
Hidden words in world unknown gleamed in her blade. Winifrith tuned it and watched the reflected fire dance across the ceiling. A blade of Elisai, forged in the breath of the Lighted One. Some things were too sacred for wonder to grasp.
She sheathed it home by her…[Read more]

Leo
Rory pulled the gloves from his pocket. Gave a nervous laugh. “Yeah, I have them. What do you want me to do? climb down the wall with them?”
“Yup.” Leo smiled and shrugged. “Unless you have a better idea. I’m not leaving you here, kid.”
Rory’s green eyes widened. The kid glanced towards the window and shuddered. No won…[Read more]

EeEeeeEeeeee!!!!!!
I think I love this book already.
One thing I noticed…if these are Slavic names in Slavic culture, they aren’t quite right. Dmitry Volkova is feminine; Dmitry Volkov is masculine. Even as a surname, I believe the name gender changes, although I’m not sure if Sofiya’s name changes…but I think so. Also,…[Read more]

*Gasps* *sputters*
*Moans*
Brin glared at his brothers, Volks tall and strong who should have known better.
“Dah dah, I know. But as I don’t intend to die and be thrown to the sea, it won’t matter, nyet?”
Krazsimir growled, folded his arms. “You’re a loyal volk, Brin, and a fighter. We need you here. We can still turn…[Read more]

Well, yes. I’m an intense history/culture nerd. My typical interests cover clothing/daily life/religion. I don’t remember any good references off the top of my head right now. However, I’m always up for a challenge! I need to be looking into the 1900s anyway for a project today, sooo…
If I find anything I’ll share it.

If it was for an assignment, there’s little hope that it actually stays in my brain. XD
Hm. That is really interesting to think about. I, for one, am glad there are so many viking burials. Especially the ones with ships.
Well, I have pretty much finished a civil war ensemble (all layers ect.) except for boots/shoes and a bonnet…[Read more]

Awesome. I’ll start digging this evening.
Right off the top of my head I know that WWI and the reformed American patent system both majorly contributed to technology, which changed the face of entertainment for the 1900’s. I’ll try to find where I know that from.
Archeology, that dear little side dream. I started getting interest…[Read more]

Ah, 1900-1950’s. What type of resource/information do you want? I may not know it, but I can help find it.
(I love history. My question: any other archeology nerds?)

*Splutter* Texans weren’t made for this much snow!
Three more steps. Calion stood gazing over the edge into the chasm below. A river threaded it’s way down there, cutting a blue seam through a rolling green wood. A mile, two, down. A misty cloud rolled by, blocking the view and pulling his gaze back to the jagged edge just a…[Read more]

GAHHHHH *falls backward wildly scrubbing snow from my face*
Thirty miles off the coast of Norway. Waves crash against the Kampørn’s prow. The styrimaðr leaned his full weight against the helm to fight the churning. His eyes strained against the spray for his first glimpse of home. He grit his teeth. Swallowed the spay. Called for the s…[Read more]
