@gracie-j I am in awe of your short-term planning skills. XD
An interview sounds like a lot of fun! ^-^
I currently have three published works: Lost Girl (short story/novella), The Mirror-Hunter Chronicles (short story series or novella, depending on how you want to look at it), and Short Story Collection vol. 1 (self-explanatory XD).
Lost Girl…[Read more]

@gracie-jÂ
You have sisters who want you to read to them? Can’t relate, haha…Do you have any tips on blogging? I’m currently being tempted by the “blog” button that my website creator has…even though I told myself I wouldn’t… -

@gracie-j I’m not sure if I count because I only publish web fiction, haha. I really like this idea.
But in the case that web fiction does count…I’ve posted a short story and a novella on Webnovel so far, and am hoping to work on much longer works some time. You can read basically anything I write for free here….…[Read more]

@gracie-j Though, to be honest, sometimes I’ll pull out some of my more recent (better writing) and I’ll flip randomly to somewhere and start reading, and I actually kind of enjoy that. I usually have no memory of writing whatever it is, and then when a character says something it’ll make me laugh a little. Only the recent ones, though. The old…[Read more]

R.M. Archer replied to the topic What's something not related to writing, that inspires the most story ideas? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 10 months ago
@gracie-j Yeahhh, that would get loud. My brother is consistently loud, and my youngest sister is often loud in response, so they make up the most consistent noise. And then there’s the younger sister who occasionally screams/screeches at the top of her lungs when she’s upset… But yeah, several toddlers all at once would be the more consistent…[Read more]

@gracie-j I have four younger siblings, and they’re definitely noisy, so it’s honestly kind of weird that washing dishes is as quiet as it is. XD I guess the kitchen just isn’t as high-traffic and the running water helps muffle the “distant” sibling racket, lol.

@princessmk My favorite subject would probably be literature. What about you?

Lin replied to the topic Hi, everyone in the forum Start HERE 5 years, 10 months ago
@princessmk I love chocolate chip cookies!
Oh, wow, I can’t believe I haven’t heard of any of these books. My favorites are: The Little Prince, Oliver Twist, East of Eden, My Sweet Orange Tree, Night on the Galactic Railroad, and Fahrenheit 451.
Are you homeschooled, by any chance? We have a lot of homeschoolers here (including myself) 🙂

@princessmk I mean the one you and your sister are writing together. That sounds cool; maybe I should ask my sister if she wants to work on a story together sometime.
What do you like to bake? And what are some of your favorite books?

@godlyfantasy12 Nice haha. I could never do that. I get super embarrassed reading my own stuff out loud, my parents prefer me to talk to them in Chinese, and I’m supposed to be studying most of the time anyway.
I really like the idea stage. It makes me want to write, but unfortunately things get in the way, so that when I actually get around to…[Read more]

Washing dishes has a tendency to give me time and quiet to think. I actually came up with an entire letter from one of my characters to his politician protege that was directly inspired by washcloths. XD
But in more general terms, theological and philosophical discussions (like @gracie-j mentioned) are a big one. Also just…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 That sounds like a great plan! It’s so helpful to have family members read through things; I have my sister do mine and she absolutely tears it apart, as all siblings should.Â
She is not happy at the prospect of looking through 52 volumes of stuff. She’ll probably quit by then, tbh. What’s your favorite point in the writing process?

@kathleenramm Yay! I’ll take a cookie any day!
@godlyfantasy12 I’ll take that tea to go with this cookie 🙂

@gracie-j (It’s because I tell myself I gotta do this before Jesus comes or I die. That’s how I manage to get through everything. Deadlines, scheduling, numbers…I feel like that’s one of the better things about myself.)
Anyway, quality vs quantity! Both are good, but really, the stuff I wrote at the beginning was trash. (And I don’t even want…[Read more]

@gracie-j Cool cool. I might stop soon as well.
So for whoever happens to venture here next:
Would your character rather be in the country or the city?

@godlyfantasy12 Ahaha
I hate myself for what I make me doÂbut thank you. It’s nice to have a lot of writing practice. Makes way for bigger and better things.Yo, I’m sure that the more you write, the better you get! It’s not all about the word count, but logging it sure does help!

Lin replied to the topic WIP Chat! in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 10 months ago
@gracie-j Ahem. I feel like I owe an explanation, lol.
It’s not one book. If it was one book I would die. No, it’s 52 volumes divided into 13 series. I started out with the 13 series idea and then decided to keep adding volumes. But 52 is a bit too daunting, so maybe I’ll advertise it as 13 volumes XD.

Lin replied to the topic Would You Rather Character Edition in the forum Characters 5 years, 10 months ago
@gracie-j Oh boy. Oh boy. That second one is, uh, a very tempting situation, but as of right now I can’t think of any pairings of hero/villain that aren’t two guys or related. Well, maybe for my other project, where I kinda ship my lawful evil with my chaotic good…
Like, I’m sure that most of my characters are prepared to be rejected by their…[Read more]
