@jonas @rae @keilah-h No, the way I imagined it was Tech was just looking into the room through the doorway, but then retreated back into the hall once Ru appeared. Does that sound right to you guys? They all would have seen each other if they were in the same room, I think.

So, Whaley’s character Marcel was kidnapped by some demon thingy and is being held hostage. Our characters don’t know that, though. All they know is that he has not been seen for a while and that a very out of character text was sent from his phone that had an address in it.
