Okay, caught up to the section where the Klein become Christians.
“When do you wish to meet Roland?” Rolf asked.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Before anyone could speak it crashed open. “Rolf! Where are you, Rolf? You were supposed to go hunting with me yesterday! Where were you?”
“That would be Roland,”…

Now that you’ve all had a chance to read the outline of The Sword, some questions:
- As a reader, is this a direction you would be satisfied to see the story take?
- What do you think of the character development you see in this (specifically for Alan, Martha, Eric, and Cyrus)?
- Now that you’ve seen…

What have you used to digitize art? I do analog/traditional art, so I would need to scan or photograph it. But I have noticed a bit of distortion when I do.
I tend to hand draw, scan with my photocopier, and then put it into software to clean it up. I’ll give you a link to a website for an artist who I like and is clean, because…[Read more]

Being an illustrator is one of my ambitions as well. I’ve never been commissioned to do anything yet. I did talk to one publishing company that someone who comes to my congregation is involved in, but my art style did not fit the needs of the author they have, and they have been a bit too busy to talk further about it. (Once I…[Read more]

Does that make sense?
Yes, that does.
But I did!
I guess so. Sorry, I was reading Ray Comfort’s book The Way of The Master and he puts a very large emphasis on convincing people that they are sinners. I’m not entirely sure his ways are right (he does make it sound as if it is up to us whether or not a person is saved, even though…[Read more]

I have made it to the 26th chapter of your WIP. Having read so much now, I can tell you have put a lot of thought into your world-building. You’ve got a variety of cultures, locations, and races. I can tell you’ve put thought into the history as well.
However, I have also gotten far enough to determine something else. Due to…[Read more]

Mercy, on the other hand, is not so prevalent in their beliefs. They’ll show mercy should it benefit them…. or if it plays into some twisted game their enjoying.
Ah. I remember for Aaron, it was so that he would use his skills to turn people to the gods of the empire. What was it for Joseph and his friends?
Duly noted. Though the…

I haven’t read the latest section just yet, but here are my thoughts on the previous one. Got a few of them this time.
Julian and Leon. “Come,” he said in a low voice. “She knows you are here, and she is waiting.”
Julian shook his head, and Leon spoke. “No, Rolf.”
If you are still looking for ideas on how the two former sold…[Read more]

If we are going to compare a Narnia character to Eric, I think Eustace is a better fit. He and Eric are both kind of wimpy. And Eustace becomes a dragon.
Though I understand why you would grab Edmund, since Edmund betrays his family.

They’re names are German! This is where you start to feel some of the German cross– beyond the complection. (Leon and Julian are also German names. Julian being the German version of Julius, which is very Roman. Little glimpse into the world of naming which is an obsession of mine.)
Ah. That’s a good idea.
Thank you for the pro…[Read more]

I can see the dilemma. I think it is good that Leon and Julian are trying a more subtle approach. I think @hybridlore‘s suggestion is good. They wouldn’t have to lie then.
But they are going to have to come out with the truth eventually.
Leon and Julian might not necessarily take the correct option first as well. It might be…[Read more]
