Bro, the art is super good. You’re dedicated and it clearly shows; well done.
Thank you!
Ooh, nice! His cowl is cool!
Thanks! After I drew the first two full-body references, I looked at him and thought ‘he really needs something around his neck’. His cowl is the only part of his clothing that I’m settled on.

That piece of artwork you have there looks cool. Is that a sheep in wolf’s clothing? Do you have the finished version?

Your art does look good. I’m a little thrown off because the picture you took of it is a little tilted, but they do look balanced when I tilt my head to match.
Iskyagus (how do you pronounce that anyway?? lol)
Here is my expertly made pronunciation guide:

Why’s he have antlers on his shoulders and not his head? Was that part of w…

I do not like full body illustrations. They are so difficult! Legs are awful! At least I can normally hide them on girls because of skirts and dresses. But Guys….. ugh. So hard to do.
Fair point. I struggle with legs often as well. I’ve been getting better recently.
Do you outline your drawings first? This has helped me improve m…[Read more]

Have a few minutes to give some brief comments in a break in my class. I may have more to say later.
I tend to like illustrations that show the full body. Many of yours are close-ups of the upper torso. But that is a preference, so don’t worry about that. Overall these are fine!
I like the horse. He’s chillin.

(I’m watermarking them just because I’m paranoid. Sorry)
Understandable. That’s why I created links to the artwork I shared yesterday instead of uploading them to Kingdom Pen directly, so I can revoke them later if I want to.
Oh, do you want to see the ones from LTBL or TVON?
Tough choice. Hmm… what about… both!

Thank you again!
You’re welcome!
I have a good deal of the illustrations done. Would you be interested in looking them over once I scan them in to the laptop? If you don’t have the time then that’s totally fine. I can ask my editor her thoughts. I would just be interested in the opinion of another artist.
Sure thing! Would lov…[Read more]

I use gloves.
Interesting. I feel like I would have to get used to that first before I could use it effectively. Another strategy I have heard it put a clean piece of paper between your hand and the drawing.
My dad has some thick plastic ones he uses when dealing with drug evidence. (He’s a Detective.)
That’s cool! (Though I bet h…[Read more]

He looks great! What kinda creature is he? I see he’s kinda like a kentor, but more elk-ish and less man.
Thank you!
Iskyagus was at one point a kentor. However, he know longer is. More on this soon when I start working on Book II.
The way you did his legs is very cool–digitigrade/unguligrade bipeds are hard (you can ask me, I have fou…

The Veil of the Night Book Feedback
Just a reminder that my feedback is just my opinion. You by no means have to follow it, but I hope it will help give you a better understanding of the areas in your book that do well and the areas that need some work. Please let me know if…[Read more]

Oh boy, a whole discussion about dragon riding warrior girls.
Nope, I have no plans to turn Martha into a warrior girl. My whole goal with her is to create a female character who is neither a Damsel in Destress nor a Mary Sue. So don’t worry about that.
If Martha rides a dragon, it will be out of…[Read more]

Honestly, I think this was actually okay. God gives strength, understanding, peace, awareness, revelation, and courage in the time He has chosen for the people who are receiving it.
Those were my thoughts. Even though it felt like the climax was too soon for Alan, I know that if a Christian is persecuted a week after he…[Read more]

Thanks!
He doesn’t look completely sinister, but there’s something about him that doesn’t sit quite right. You know what I mean?
Well, that fits. Remember, he was able to trick Cyrus into trusting him.

Here is the full reference sheet. This is the first time I have done one of these. Newer drawings are to the left. I’m left-handed, so I have to do it backwards if I want to avoid smudging my work.
Having antlers on your back would be very inconvenient. But sometimes you have to sacrifice comfort for looks.

Just drew the villain of my series for the first time. I probably should have experimented around some more, but I kind of like the look and feel of him here. His name is Iskyagus.

I should say thank you to you for providing reasons to keep it as well and reminding me that I can’t please everyone. One of my struggles is that I always try to, but deep down I know I can’t.
