Those look awesome (though I have absolutely no idea what the Council of Bust is)!
I found a song for Mitchel! And I think I’m changing his name to Mikkel, and his sister may not be the other MC of this book, but that book is the last in the series, so I still have plenty of time to figure them out. XD
Anyway, his song…[Read more]

I’m popping back on here to clarify; I was thinking of later in these characters lives. Like, they become close friends during the series, and sometime later, when Paxton is older, the marriage idea enters the horizon.
And I’m someone who has avoided any sort of romance in my book’s, as I wanted Christian literature without twitter-pated…[Read more]

Hi!! I’m back, but warning now, I may have to disappear again in the somewhat near future.
Zlatan and Vulkasin
The corridor was dark, the small oil lamp bright in his hand. Shadows swayed to it’s flickering flame.
Which way led to the brother and sister?
“Nyx,” Zlatan turned to the little fox. He…[Read more]

At first I thought,”Romance, over described battles, messed up characters…”
Then I remembered my book’s cultures.
The first books MCs’ father would be shown as a bloodthirsty military captian, their mother a brutal taskmaster. The fact that this kingdom has a female home-guard would immediately warp into some feminist program. In…[Read more]

Yay!!! Allegory is one of my favorite genres!
Ok, what are some of my favorites…
A series my sister is writing, which is totally AWESOME!! She doesn’t have a set title yet, but whenever it gets published it will definitely be my go to recommend!
Narnia. Every time I read them I find another something deeper. The other works of his…[Read more]

Well, I only have one moon, but it’s not exactly like ours, at least not for this far north Kingdom, and is a huge part of their culture. On the first full moon of the frozen months, she turns blood red (when she’s called Warrior), and the first full moon of warm weather she’s gold (Conqueror). These moons mark the two ‘seasons’ of…[Read more]

That is sweet and good. I’m enjoying hearing about their story.
Oh, Paxton, Luna. I feel so sorry for you. Your author needs to give you both a big hug. (Pretends my charies have no trauma)
If you ever want to rant about your books, feel free to tag me!

That actually sounds really fun! And as for the age gap, that isn’t a problem. My Grandmother is older than my Grandfather, and there’s a nine year gap between my parents, but seriously, age gaps aren’t a real problem (obviously if God intended), some people simply need someone older/younger than them.
And I love the idea of an…[Read more]

Ah, forgiveness and trust together can be quite powerful. Have you ever read the Promise of Zion series by Robert Elmer? It’s centered around the creation of the Israeli State, and those are a couple of the themes.
The map style is based off folklore, each object made up of others (example: a mountain is, if one looks close enough,…[Read more]

Koshka replied to the topic Have you ever written a story that took place in your hometown? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 11 months ago
Well, I thought it was.
The lead up to the civil war and through till after the reconstruction, but it was less focused on the war and more how it affected the Jewish, Celtic, and Native American populations of the area. It wasn’t a pro north or south book, but simply a story of two families and a war.

At least I have my series practically plotted out. *Sigh* Agreed!
Oh dear! I’m not sure…perhaps either, that we always have a choice to do good or evil no matter if there seems to be no choice left or we have already made wrong ones, OR, even in the darkest places there is yet hope because we belong to another Kingdom.
What about…[Read more]

Hi there! I Koshka, or at least that’s me around here (It’s actually a warped form of a nick name, but anyway…). I’m a bit of a historical clothing/random history nerd, among other things of course.
I loved Wingfeather(!!!) and grew up with American girl.
I’ve read such a mixture of genres I’m not sure what’s my…[Read more]

Hello, and welcome to the kingdom! I am Koshka, or at least that’s me around here. I have been writing (as in, writing not related to homeschool) for…I don’t know…five years?
Hmm, I definitely write in genre, fantasy and historical fiction to be exact. Characters are also my biggest focus, though plot is definitely important to…[Read more]

Oh hello there, nice to ‘formally’ meet you! I am Koshka around here, I would rather not have a dog, and I’m sort of learning violin (that’s currently on hold as I wait for a new instrument).

Zlatan
He flinched at the force of the slap on his shoulder, then sighed. His brother was being his typical friendly self, reminding Zlatan that these were possible allies.
The lad looked to each of the group as they were introduced, then back at the brothers, dark eyes searching.
So this is who…[Read more]

Vulkasin and Zlatan
She had closed the door behind her, not exactly how someone would react to a guard. Unless she was trying to cover for them.
Why would she do that?Vulkasin frowned. He didn’t need anyone to cover for him.

I did once start on a historical fiction novel which was to be set near where I live, but I put it aside for my current WIP.
Come to think of it, I only ever started two stories in our world, one of which was an early attempt at writing which I shall NEVER pick up again.
