That dragon is now glaring at me most reproachfully. I don’t think it likes my pencil’s jabbing.

Life is good, just learning to take things one day at a time.
Gracious, you like Legolas a tad bit don’t you? XD Seriously though, Tolkien had some amazing characters. My sister and I have been rereading The Two Towers together. I love Pippin.
Have you finished the series? -

Secret of the Swamp King ~ Jonathan Rogers-
Ah! Love those books!!
-
Me too (if you cant tell)! Which would you say is your favorite?
-
Oh I don’t know. Maybe the first one…… or maybe the last. The prince was one of my favorite character so it was really sad to see him die. 🙁
What about you?-
Probably the second one, Secret of the Swamp King. I love the feechies, and the Prince, and the whole story basically revolved around them.
-
Yeah. The whole series is good.

Want to hear something funny? I read those aloud to my brothers when they were about 8 and 6. One of my brothers thought the headbutting thing was such a good idea, that when I hugged him goodnight he did it to me! Of course I cried and was upset because I thought he was being mean, and he was so confused. He was like, “But that’s how Aidan and…[Read more]

Honestly Freedom, the “To be warned” headings you add about tickle me pink at this point. If any keepers reading your writing don’t already know they’re in for a punch to the gut, they sure haven’t been around here very long. XD
Good job, and keep up the good work!

Not sure what’s going on around here, since I last ventured through these halls. I’ll get around to reading through this some day. That said…
@loopylin Don’t feel any pressure to respond. I just sort of remembered I had these guys in here.

I’ll have you know that I just wrote…
*Counts*
0 words in any of my WIPs. That’s right, zero.
Go eat a cookie. Or ice cream. All those planks deserve it.
As for me, I have a homework dragon to slay.

AHHHHHH!
*Throws confetti and glitter everywhere*
Congratulations! Two books in two years? That’s so exciting.
Aww, you’re welcome, and I’ve loved getting to “meet” you here in the kingdom. Say hi to Leon and Riker for me.
Btw, my sister and I were playing with a random scene that had several of our character’s reactions…[Read more]

It’s interesting to me how different people imagine the same characters. For instance, I see Faramir as having black hair (short and raggedly cut) and blue eyes.
But I can see how that’s him even though it doesn’t look like what I imagined.

The blue light filter on my phone gives the poor guy fiery red hair. He looks good though (besides the conspiring on technology).
I need a cloak like that. -

I like number 7 best I think. The title feels like it is part of the picture.
Jonathan, you reckless, courageous, foolish kid. What did you think you were doing? (I think you’d get a long just fine with Vulkasin to the rest of the world’s danger)

So pretty!! I love the soft shimmery feel of your cover.
My only critique on the cover is that the words feel a little crowded and off balance, like they were shoved into the top of the picture. I might move your name to the bottom of the page, enlarge the words, and drop them down a little bit. Maybe even flip one or both of…[Read more]

Koshka replied to the topic Do You Use Fantasy Maps? in the forum Fantasy 4 months, 2 weeks ago
I tend to study a map after or during the first book, and then I will reference it again if ai gets confused with the author’s directions. However, I tend to modify maps in my head to fit my own impression of the fantasy world, so after the third or so book I rarely if ever look at the map.

That’s awesome!
And yeah, sometimes a charies just don’t make the smartest choices (never mind that we’re technically the one’s making them make those choices).

Welcome to the kingdom! I’m Koshka, a writer of middle-grade stuff ranging from rustic fantasy to sci-fi, plus the occasional poem or two. I play violin and scribble somewhat decent sketches on random pieces of paper.
Oh, and I’m halfway addicted to research. Especially the archeological, cultural, and historical kinds.

Finally, here he is. (Poor guy’s way confused)
Leo
Talan? Leo blinked. Blinked again. The thought of another type of living mankind brought dusty memories of bedtime fairytales floating back.
Still, humanity was almost species, not a race.

Girl, same here😅💖
I do. (Aragorn is actually my fav tho👀) ACK, his characters are sooo good. Pippin is so much fun XXD
yesss, I’ve finished the series and watched all 3 movies (but not the extended versions yet😭). Technically I listened to an audiobook of the 1st book, read both The Two Towers and The Return of the King as paperbacks, then read…[Read more]
I approve of Aragorn as a favorite. He’s amazing. *Nods importantly*
Wow…I’ve just read the books, but my sister and I found a well done audiobook so we’ve swapped to listening.
Which movie is your favorite? And about how graphic are they?
AAAH. Don’t say that too loudly! XD.
He is😍
Ooh, what audiobook? 👀
MMMMMMmmmmmm either The Fellowship of the Ring or The Return of the King for the movies. Maybe the Fellowship, just bc I love everyone being together.
And I wouldn’t say they’re SUPER graphic, but there is blood, beheadings, and pretty typical PG-13 violence.
Some of the creatures can be pretty creepy (although I…[Read more]
The Recorded Books version read by Andy Serkis. He does an amazing job with the hobbit voices, and Gollum’s voice about gives me shivers (and is somehow funny at the same time).
I’m kinda sensitive in that I don’t forget scenes and end up dreaming them. But a friend of ours has been trying to get us to see the main trilogy, despite knowing we are…[Read more]
