ah, @dragon-snapper, I just had an idea. Daeus loves to sing, he’s always singing, and he sings really well. He loves symphonies, too. Oh, he loves symphonies! (Did I mention he wants to write one of his own?) If you could capture his love of music in your story, it would be really accurate. 😀

Hi @emma-flournoy ! Do you have any ideas on how to describe an angry knocking on a door? I was thinking like a “Bang. Bang,” but then I thought it might be mistaken for gun shots. I thought about “Thud. Thud,” but it sounds kind of soft, do you think? It’s Turkish soldiers banging on the door of my great-grandpa’s house that I want to describe. Thanks!

  Hey Kina!
  You’re right, the ‘thud’ sounds kind of soft. ‘Bang’ is a little bettter, and I don’t think it’s too similar to guns, but it is very common. So…crack…pound…hammer…? Those wouldn’t all work the way you had it—the word repeated twice slowly. I mean, it would sound a little weird. ‘Hammer. Hammer.’

    @emma-flournoy oh sorry! I meant to reply to this. For now I’m just doing “Knock. Knock. Knock.” As I read over great grandpa’s story, I realized that the Turk soldiers weren’t really angry, they were just a little rough, so “Knock Knock Knock” sounds better to me now than it did before.
