@theshadow yeah….it is lol
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
November 23, 2024 at 2:43 pm in reply to: The Veil of Night– second book in The Flames of Hope Saga #190424@ellette-giselle you could have one or both of them get really, really close to death, and everyone thinks they’re dead, but then someone notices them still breathing or something, and they rush to save them.
I do agree with the others that letting them die was kinda getting old. Them dying was……sorta tolerable for me, but it was like the third public execution in two books, and it was a little repetitive. Plus yes, I expected it to happen now.

I don’t believe she has an orangutangally. I would say I have one, but to refer to a tooth-filled crocodile-tailed trained killer or any of six twenty-foot dragons as an “orangutangally” would be asking to be savaged.

November 21, 2024 at 10:04 am in reply to: The Veil of Night– second book in The Flames of Hope Saga #190287(I’m trying to decern if the verses are saying that the Elder must be a husband and father, or if they are saying that if he is married, he should be married to only one wife and if he is a father, he must manage his household well. I know Paul was not married and did not have children, but he was an apostle and missionary. I don’t know if he ever was an elder.)
I’m going to assume that it means the second option, since if the first were true, that would logically follow to mean an elder whose wife had died would have to be kicked out of his position if he married another, or what about an elder who is married but he and his wife can’t have children for some reason (and haven’t adopted any yet)?

@theshadow well…..
I’m nowhere near even a novice theologian or pastor or whatnot, so I’m really not qualified to answer. But honestly, the same logic kinda applies to “why did God make humans if he knew they’d sin?”
believe me, I’ve had some “Why—just why—did you make that, God?” moments myself. But I’m just a lowly human being, who am I to question the ultimate storycrafter who made billions upon billions of parsecs’ worth of space and matter solely by saying it was so?
Some things we just don’t know. We kinda just have to trust Him on that.

@hybridlore Nope, I wish. They’re 3D models that I posed like digital action figures. I can also animate them, although I chose to just make a still picture this time.
and thanks! The shading was still really hard cause I had to position the light source the right way to see the characters’ faces.

Playing with Blender again. This time it’s just a still image.
But I’m really proud of this render of Sniper and Thunder the Night Fury!
They actually have a lot in common lol
- very good at shooting things
- if you actually see them doing their job, they’re not doing it right
- suspicious of people except for a select few they’ve learned to trust
the most handsome blue eyes
ok someone take the models away from me please before I say more things like that last one

November 19, 2024 at 4:31 pm in reply to: The Veil of Night– second book in The Flames of Hope Saga #190220No, the epilogue from LTBL hits about midway through TVON. (aw! the acronym is almost TRON. That would have been something. lol)
That would have been the strangest acronym for a missionary story ever lol
I mean, Joseph doesn’t last THAT long. (whoops. cat’s out of the bag and running wild. hehehehe)
I would be fine with this, except you keep murdering your main characters before they reach 25 and it’s starting to get old now. Lol.
i’m kidding, you can do what you want with your story. But yeah, prepare to get a lot of “I liked the story, but couldn’t read past such-and-such book because every time I got interested in a character he got killed at the end” reviews. I personally would keep reading it (your story is amazing, 5 main deaths in a book and a half or not), but I can’t speak for everyone.
all I’m saying is, if you’re gonna kill Joseph, make it completely different from Aaron’s and Adrian’s deaths. Have the Empire chuck him off a cliff or something, I don’t know. (Lol don’t do that, that’s horrible.) And make him last a few years more at least.

@theshadow Maybe. Especially considering the bringing him back to life thing lol.
But it probably stems more from the fact that Soldier and Demo have canonically made some powerful enemies (sometimes on purpose, sometimes not lol). Soldier in particular had an ex-roommate-turned-mortal-enemy who was a wizard, and has literally made it his business to torture them when he gets the chance. So. There’s that too.

@raxforge Most of my stories are rewrites of an existing universe but with something added. For example, this particular one is based off the lore of the video game I posted that image of, but set in a sci-fi universe and written from the perspective of my own character. There’s a good deal of (clean) romance though, and the plot is kinda wonky, so…..
I have other ones, for example the entirety of Star Wars but everyone is half-dragon (with like wings and tails and stuff). That one’s cool, but I don’t have that many stories actually written down for it.
@rae ahahahaha I started something didn’t I? I’m sorry lolWhere'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
@rae haha it would be.
i’d start questioning my existence though. Like, monsters made out of bread?? What universe is this?
@raxforge in case you’re confused about the bread thing, it’s from the fanfic I wrote and she read. I would love to tell you to read it, but I have a feeling it’s really not up your alley, so I won’t. lolWhere'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
check it out, we’re bonding over nonsense.
I don’t recommend actually playing the game tbh. There’s quite a bit of blood involved, although I’ve heard you can turn that off, and the character sometimes cuss at each other upon kills. I have bowdlerized their vocabulary in my writing.

silly me
I was looking up “what happened on October 10th” like that’d give me the answer lollllll
although while doing that I found a funny coincidence:
the very thing that started this discussion was also revealed to the world October 10th.
Raxforge, you have not only outdone your theoretical competitor, but did so on the very day the completed form of his existence began. I salute you.
