Oh man, I know what you mean! Drafts are rough. I’m working on the third of my main WIP, and sometimes it can just feel… blegh. Boring. Dull. Like it’s torture to type one more word in this ridiculous paragraph/scene… Anyway, yeah, I understand. It can be tough!
1. Beginnings are hard. Like, I kind of hate mine right now……[Read more]

I have been trying to juggle schoolwork, writing, and packing up, because my family is moving across the country in a week lol. What I have been doing, since I have a VERY short attention span, (I’m homeschooled, btw) is do a couple of lessons/quizzes/tests, then write at least one paragraph, but no more than five, before I tackle…[Read more]

I’m a little late to this, but I think this is the last sentence I wrote:
Evie sighed louder than necessary. “Remind me why I’m here again…”
You said without context, didn’t you? XD
Oh my goodness, everybody has such amazing lines! We should all post our ‘last lines’ here at the end of every writing day:)

Alright, so here’s mine:
“Hey.” Drew turned and saw Addie sitting up. She was unusually quiet. And it made Drew worry.

“Oh, yes!” she exclaimed, bouncing up and down in the corner where she was sitting on a green bean bag. “Come see! You haven’t gotten to that level yet, have you?” she didn’t wait for an answer but continued to gush about….
haha, sorry for the awful grammar.

@kathleenramm Ooooh what a fun dare!!! I love your sentence, btw:D
Here’s mine (I think; my WIP is so out-of-order that it’s difficult to really tell which sentence I wrote last 🙃)
“What? Speak up, honey, I can’t hear a thing you’re saying.”

I’ll give it a go I suppose. I actually haven’t written anything for a while because we’re on vacation, but here’s my last sentence from a while ago.
He offered her a smile, not a grin like Connor’s, but something that he hoped would give her the encouragement she was searching for.

Dare accepted!:D Though, yes, I have no idea if it’ll make any sense without context… oh well, here it is anyway:)
“Or if, on joyful wing“ the musicians chorused,
“Cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon and stars forgot,
Upward I fly,

Ooh, fun! Uhh, let’s see…
I needed to find a way to get my revenge.
Yeah…not that exciting. It looks pretty bland without the paragraph leading up to it XD

Ok, here is the last line I’ve written:I abruptly turned away so he wouldn’t see the tears stream down, and then I ran back to the castle.

okay, I gladly accept! Though it will make absolutely no sense! XD

I’ve only written one short story so far, since I started last month, but I was really proud of it and I want to keep going! And yes–even a sentence can be counted as progress! Given my random and busy schedule, allowing myself to feel happy about writing smaller amounts has been really necessary and helpful. 🙂

@kathleenramm Oh that’s so cool! I’m doing short stories too! I just recently decided to do one short story a month, and I got my sister to join me as a sort of “one short story a month” challenge. We hold each other accountable by reading each other’s finished stories at the end of each month, too. The one short story a month thing has been super…[Read more]
