Wonderful topic here!
@kate-flournoy there are so many people I’d loved to known more about! Simeon and Anna are two and then there is Miriam, Dorcus, Stephan, and Phebe! I guess we’ll have to wait until we meet them later on!
The creation account. It sets the stage for the wonderful “play” of God’s glorious plan of redeeming and sanctifying…[Read more]

@writefury, I’m going for the rewrite thing. I’ll have to do some research for this, but I want to do ALAP (as little as possible).
@kate-flournoy, I’m not perfectly confident in myself, but I’m sure I’ll succeed. I tend to be optimistic about what I’ll do and optimistic about what I’ve done. But then I think to myself that I might not really be…[Read more]

Here you go, @kate-flournoy. 😉 The self playing piano scene directly before my other one.
“I was only out for like two minutes,” Cobalt scratched at his hair underneath the edge of his hat, “It’s not like I’m dying.”
“Still, some food would be good,” the driver pulled up to the rickety looking old restaurant in the middle of town. “Besid…[Read more] -

@hope and @kate-flournoy Thanks! I was afraid I’d missed something like that. 😛 The policeman thing, Cobalt was supposed to be facing the opposite way from them, away from the car, so he saw it and they didn’t. But yeah, I did kind of drop the other henchman at that part. XD Will fix that.
@kate-flournoy Correct on the blue eyes, though he has…[Read more]

Yes hello @kate-flournoy I heard my name?
Oh, that. Yeah, you’re right although the passive voice you’re using there doesn’t sound very nice. “If you’re going to shrink the font” is so much more understandable.
Grammar lesson aside…I like Number One. Numero Uno for a Singaporean trying to learn Spanish, but that’s a side note. But I really…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy Well the good news is that thistles are edible, but the bad news is they have spikes. I guess we’re both biting off more than we can chew.
Very good point about historical revisionism needing a point. I’m not sure it needs a historical point though. I think it would be fine if the point was more concerned with character and plot…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy I like the idea of a pessimistic jester. I was also thinking that I could have a little resentment between the two lords in the resistance. There should be at least one guy among them who, while not being super brilliant, is very solid and peaceable – probably the blacksmith.
As for the Lollards, I get your point about how they…[Read more]

As far as characters, the next step for me is getting down the main characters in the resistance. I’m thinking I’ll have people from all sorts of backgrounds in the resistance leadership. Of course there would be my MC, and then there would be one or two noblemen, and of course a blacksmith, then a couple knights, and probably a…[Read more]

I agree with @Kate-Flournoy about the bad guy pretending he has all kinds of power to take over. Have you ever read A Connecticut Yankee in King Aurther’s Court by Mark Twain? You really should if you haven’t…it might give you some ideas (and besides, I love the story). In there, the MC is knocked from the 1800s (I think) into Aurtherian times.…[Read more]

Totally agree with @kate-flournoy‘s ideas. The Chekhov’s Gun is usually better used if it starts out being a hinderance or a symbol of something bad.
Yeah, I’d say the mad scientist should use his technology as manipulation and make people think he’s more powerful than he is. A magician of sorts. But he could also have a sort of limitation he’s…[Read more] -

Thanks. You sparked some great ideas, especially with regards to the king. And, hehe…
You could also choose to have as a leader of the rebels someone who embodies everything the MC is not. Someone whose honor and integrity stick very clearly off from the MC’s immaturity. Aaaaand if you want this to have a love story in the p…

Sweet. I like setting people’s minds on fire, it’s just with the price of napalm recently, I haven’t had much success.
Ok, that was really bad.
Definitely send me the finished version.
And that math stuff – math is ten times easier when the units are the type you like to see. *Shouts out to mathematicians* “Did you hear that???!!!”

I think I just came up with a fantastic idea. It’s one of those, “do this exactly and everything will work wonderfully” type things. Of course, sometimes those don’t work out, but sometimes they do, so here I go.
This is what you should do:
Take this poem, and when you feel it is as good as you can get it, paint a picture to go…[Read more]

@daeus Pretty close. It’s Polish, so we say it “kruh-nickee”. And I think extra y’s are permissible in the bestistest forums, right?
@belegteleri It’s just like having two brothers, but more than double the mess and the fun. Lots of sword fights and army guys.

Cool. Yeah, I mean, I think liked it is a little week. By the way, you can get off the floor now. After all, it would be much more interesting if you were ceilinged than floored. *Tries to imagine that*

Tag thingy not forgotten @kate-flournoy
Common sense is some pretty awesome stuff. If you have any for sale, I’ll take it.
‘To love you must be willing to bear things alone’
That’s what I’m talking about. Same poetry, more realism.
Sweet stuff.

I’ll be ever so helpful here. If you changed cadence between the first verse and the third verse, you probably did it in the second verse.*cough cough* Yes, let’s see. Down to business…
Post the thing. Yep, I kinda need it.
I deal well with ideas, but I do better when I have examples to go along.
