@lady-iliara Really? That’s awesome! They’re my favorite breed ever! 🙂 The one in my profile pic is my 5-year-old Henry. He’s the best! *heart eyes*

@lady-iliara AWESOME! I’m also an aspiring actress! Who dreams of acting on film! It’s a pleasure to meet you! *wildly shakes hand* How are your acting classes? What are they like? Where are you taking them?

@lady-iliara That’s amazing! Being the elder of two teenagers in my family, I can relate to insisting on making the rules. And my brother is the reason I make certain rules, and he thinks rules don’t apply to him. Then again, I don’t think rules apply to me . XD Anyway, that’s a really cool collage! I love it. 🙂

@supermonkey42 WELCOME WELCOME. *shakes your hand enthusiastically* I’m glad you’ve found your way to this part of the internet. 😀
Yay for Star Wars fans! Which is your favourite of the films?

@daeus That sounds really cool! It also sounds like something I’d write (only I’d do first or third person – probably first – just because that’s my writing preference)… 🙂

@northerner Yes! I was thinking stepladder, but that’s close enough to stairs! XD

@Ethryndal I guess I automatically assume that the guy will get the girl (or the girl will get the guy, whatever) so it would be a sort of unique twist to make it that they didn’t end up together in the end.
Personally I love it when fairy tale retellings are done in completely different genres. Like a steampunk beauty and the beast or a sci fi…[Read more]

@ck4always I can try to help with some small things. Next month will be really busy for me (I’m crazy enough to try NaNoWriMo for the first time!), but I’d love to help where I can! 🙂

@Daeus it’s pretty cool! You could make the shadows a little heavier which would be a very subtle ominous layer, or add a little shading to the white around the whole picture. Not sure though.

@ethryndal You have a great question. I’ve been wondering the same things lately. What I personally expect in a fairytale are knights and castles, princes and princesses, magical objects, enchanted places or things, and fantastical creatures. Probably someone in distress, and cruel stepfamily. Also objects or events occurring in threes, sevens,…[Read more]

*pokes head in* Was I aware of the 10th Writers Corner being created? *tries to remember* Huh. Oh well, I’ll be using it when I write Wednesday.

@Christi-Eaton I really need to read something by that Peterson guy sometime… Or both of them, as the case may be. What’s A.S. Peterson’s A name? But Andrew Peterson, author of the W. Saga, is the guy with all the great songs, right?

@sleepwalkingmk (for some reason I can’t access the Theme Mastery homework anymore?) But yeah. That’s Kara. I’m planning on having a mini-fall arc for her in the second book. But then she has her greatest triumph yet 😀

@audrey-caylin Oh goodness. The poor girl. *cries over certain characters* Oooo, yay! I’m looking forward to it 🙂

@Dekreel I don’t really have problems in this quarter because I’m very good at just ignoring all my horrible mistakes in a first draft. And I also enjoy rewriting the full novel because it’s fun seeing the massive improvement in it. xD But still, I have friends who struggle with this. Three things you can try:
1: (as Kate said) write in…[Read more]

@Kballen so exciting that you’re doing NaNo!! (I am too.) Like the others have said, having an outline is very helpful, and so is having a group of encouraging buddies who can spur you on in writing. That was one of the things that helped me most. 🙂
K.M. Weiland has a bunch of great advice on NaNo (here’s a link if you want to check it out). -
