@joy First off, your story sounds so cool. I kinda love it, actually. 🙂
I don’t have an immediate preference between option A or B, but I would add that something to keep in mind, is your protagonist’s character development. I would ask which situation is the better opportunity to show his growth as a person.
(Hope that helps!) -

introvert_girl replied to the topic Writing Letters Within a Book in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years ago
@shannon Whenever I write or receive letters, it’s always fun to send/get small items along with them, like pressed flowers or leaves, photographs, clippings from magazines, or whatever will fit in an envelope, really.
Everyone else had some really good ideas/points, so I don’t have much else to add. 😀 -

@dekreel This isn’t an idea of what to do, exactly, but there’s an article on Go Teen Writers website about writing the middle of your story that might help you?
http://goteenwriters.blogspot.com/2012/08/writing-cream.htmlI also like K.M. Weiland’s articles about the three act structure. But if you’re not an outliner that may not be as useful.

@dekreel I read it as dee-kreel, if that helps *shrug* but pronounce it however you like 😉
@dragon-snapper I agree. I think the films were trying to do different things, which is okay, I guess. But Force Awakens was setting up new characters we were meant to be invested in, because we’ll be following them for this new trilogy at least, and I’d…[Read more]

@dekreel Yes xD. It’s actually quite a regular occurrence. I think they may be getting tired of it haha. . . But it’s not my fault everything has a sad backstory, right? 😉

You know you’re a writer when you get your siblings emotionally attached to a paper towel tube (or other misc. inanimate objects).

@dekreel I think that’s a super cute name for an alien 🙂
@dragon-snapper Better late than never! Thank you. And I’m terribley sorry about that. May you never run out of chairs, then. We wouldn’t want you melting through the floor, now would we? 😉
I have a couple of space operas tucked away, though they’re not current WIPs. Maybe someday I’ll…[Read more] -

@catwing Hello, fellow introvert! My sisters have been getting on to me about reading the rest of the Story Thieves series, but I wanted to reread the first two before I went onto the new books. And well, it’s taking me a while. . . I haven’t read Half Upon a Time yet. It’s on my ever growing pile of books I would like to read. I like fairy tale…[Read more]

@alia I don’t think anyone suggested this yet, but dancing princesses makes me think of music, so you could do musically inspired names, such as Aria, Harmony, Melody, etc.

@dekreel Shh. . . I’m in disguise. . . 😉
@lady-iliara Good choice. My favorite would have to be Loki, haha.

@lady-iliara Pleasure to meet you! Who is your favorite character from the Marvel cinimatic universe?
And thank you! That’s so sweet. It’s been a lot of fun writing it. 🙂@shannon I took piano lessons for several years, but stopped before my senior year of highschool, and I don’t play much anymore. My favorite artist is Adam Young aka Owl City.…[Read more]

@alia Why, thank you! One of the main characters from my WIP happens to be an INTP. I’d introduce you, but alas, he is fictional.
@that_writer_girl_99 *INFP highfive* My right hand is dominant but I think I have a slight lean toward ambidextrous as I can use it to do some things. (I can write with my left, but it’s super sloppy, haha.)

@aratrea It’s modern fantasy, inspired in part by Athurian Legend. The knights and their apprentices are viewed much like super heroes. (I like to call it Avengers meets the knights of the round table, haha). The novel is told through a collection of shorter stories that build of one another (they couldn’t be read out of order). Each part is told…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy Oh, and I don’t write much poetry, though I’d like to some time in the future 🙂

introvert_girl replied to the topic Hello, fellow writers 🙂 in the forum Start HERE 7 years ago
@kate-flournoy A mix of contemporary fantasy, space opera, and a teeny bit of high fantasy (all my high fantasy projects are still in developmental stages). My current WIP came to be because I wanted to write something inspired by Arthurian Legend set in modern day, and it has sort of a super hero feel to it. (Sort of like Avengers meets knights…[Read more]

I get this all. the. time. And I love it. Because it makes me feel like they’ve developed past the point of a role in the story when they have such a strong personality.
But people always give me odd looks when I say a character did/said something that I wasn’t expecting. -

Just hopping in to say hi! I guess I should say a little bit about me. I like to write stories that are character focused, and I have a strong preference for speculative fiction. When I’m not writing, my other hobbies are crafty type things, journaling, tending to my plants, and netflixing (does that count? lol.) I’m an INFP through and through…[Read more]
