@HowlingWolf It sounds like you’ve done a good job on characterization already. 😀 Manuel and Lilly have stolen my heart.

Yep, concurrence here too. 😀 It would need some really good characterization work for the kids to keep me reading though—not just a bunch of toddlers who’re one dimensional…toddlers. 😛
Nice ta meet ya, btw! I know you from stalking but I don’t think you were present when I actually came on. *shakes your hand heartily*

Heyyyy! Kenya! Nice to see you again! 😀
I think the story could have a lot of potential, but you’d need to think up a plot that would actually keep the story moving and make so many different children and families necessary. It doesn’t have to be complicated— it could be as simple as some bad-guy scientist trying to get them back, and their…[Read more] -

@howlingwolf Hello, I don’t believe we have met before, I’m Christine, but you can call me Christi. I am one of the writing team interns here at KP. 🙂
Now, this is an interesting idea you have here, and it could be a cool premise, but it would need a lot of work as far as fleshing out the plot, characters, etc. It really depends on what your…[Read more]

@sarah-h That is a good point about readers not being able to separate the real world from the fantasy world. If that happened, it could have some very bad effects. It does seem though that Little Brown Dog is doing a good job at forcing upon the reader the very sharp distinction between the real world and her world.
@howlingwolf along the lines…[Read more]

Yeah, that tends to happen around here. 😀
You raise good points, @howlingwolf. But the question here is not whether or not torture can be faulty, but is it even an acceptable practice, whatever it’s faults.
I certainly grant you there are problems with the system. 😛

It sounds like you’ve done a good job of having this be a story element, @howlingwolf, but not promoting it. That’s perfectly fine. In fact that can actually be a very good thing, as it forces the reader to stop and think about these things. And that’s always good.
I think it’s safe to say…[Read more]
