Oh yes, Boromir, definitely. Both sacrificial and redemptive.
Come to think of it, Thorin’s death as well, @hope, though in the movie. The one in the book wasn’t all that impressive.
Thorin’s death was neither sacrificial nor redemptive, and so it was more bitter than, say, Sydney Carton’s death in A Tale of Two Cities, but it worked because he…[Read more] -

Yes. That death. Totally that death. It’s not just that he sacrificed his life, either— he sacrificed his reputation. See @hope, the MC had just been framed for a crime he didn’t commit and no one could prove he hadn’t committed it. So the MC’s…[Read more]

This is really weird. INFJs are supposed to be the rarest type, but they make up most of the people I know.
ENTJ, @hope? Cool! I didn’t think I knew any ENTJs. 😛 -
Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Characterization help…again in the forum Characters 8 years, 8 months ago
apparently I’m ENTJ-A (whatever the A means). And what does EN mean? I was looking over the rest of the conversation, but all these initials are still making my head spin.
Ha, yes @hope me too. 😉 About the initials making my head spin, I mean. 😛

@hope That makes more sense for you than ENFP. As soon as I said that, I thought, “No, not that, but what?” A is assertive as opposed to “T” which is turbulent.

@hope I know that the A is for Assertive.
I looked it up just now and the (E) is for Extraversion and the (N) is for Intuition 🙂 -

@hope, get over here quick, @Daeus is conducting psychological experiments on the entire forum! Too cool to miss! 😛
Well @Daeus, I took the test again, and I do appear to be an INFP, but I read the description of an INFP and while a lot of it does sound very much like me, a good bit of it doesn’t. For instance, I love debate. (Argument, whatever…[Read more]

O.o Believe it or not I HAVE ONE OF THOSE @HOPE!!!!!
In fact, I’m currently smack dab in the middle of killing that exact. Same. Villain. Like, when I get off this forum and stop wasting time, I’m working on his death scene. Literally. Right. Now.
That… is so ironic it’s not even funny. 😀

Well… this looks cool. XD
Yikes @hope 5000 words? That’s pretty good. Very good, actually. Best I can handle right now is around 100 or more words XP
And is anyone else excited for Captain America: Civil War and Star Wars: Rogue One? I am, and really can’t wait 😀

@hope Wow! I don’t think I could do that either. Great job keeping up with it. 🙂
It’s not so much that words won’t come or I don’t know what to write; I simply just don’t want to write anymore…
I have the opposite problem! 🙂 Haha. I really want to write, but the words just wont come. For example: I put my characters in such difficult posit…[Read more]

But @kate-flournoy…no American authors? What about Mark Twain (some of the time), Serena Chase, or umm, *clears throat at Grimina’s insistence* even lesser known authors who like retelling fairy tales?
Somehow I missed that the first time around, @hope… 🙂
I was thinking more classical, so I didn’t think of those, but yes all three of tho…[Read more] - Load More
