Hey KeePers!
You should have gotten an email about this last night, but I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of our fourth panel discussion that’s happening this upcoming Monday on self-publishing and writing.
In short, we have three self-published authors (Kim Vandel, Rachel Rittenhouse, and Jeannette DiLouie) who are going to be on…[Read more]

@Hope, @Northerner, thanks for responding. I’ve been automatically assigned to a cabin and they seem to be a much friendlier bunch than last time, so I should be right, 😀

Definitely the logo and site address. And the motto, absolutely and without any doubt, because to me, that is the core.
Are those four things we identified, if any, the core and thusly needing to be written on the card? Honestly, I’m not sure. @hope What do you think? If we put just bullet type mentions, that could work. But are they even…[Read more] -

@bethanysinkyroses and @hope, Awesome thoughts! I totally agree with the main purpose of this handout:
A physical reminder of an amazing conversation with a fellow writer
I think it would be great to keep a lot of open space on the card for writing notes and such since it is used during a conversation. Thus, we are only putting the vary core of…[Read more]

@bethanysinkyroses, I’m going to tag @aratrea (Josiah) because he just actually took KP to a homeschool conference.
I would definitely like to see KP at more homeschooling conferences because it is a place where we are most likely to be able to interact with our target audience (Young Christian Authors, or their parents in this case). I know at…[Read more]

@Hope I’m pretty much in agreement with the general consensus.

You know you’re a writer when you feel smug because your notebook is stained with real blood and your friend only has fake blood stains on hers.
(That’s me and @hope by the way)

@hope I agree with most of what everybody else is saying (which is pretty much the same thing). However, I do understand what your “respected friend” says. The Bible does talk about offending another Christian by using something associated with something bad (the Bible uses eating meat offered to idols). You should be willing to give up what…[Read more]

@Hope *hums thoughtfully* I think it’s a matter of personal opinion. For example, if person A has watched Game of Thrones and person B hasn’t. B might love the music for the beauty of it, but A might think it not-good because they associate it with the show itself, and therefore with bad content.

Oh, @Hope I just finished reading that Tuesday morning and I loved it. ;D
And that is kinda creepy how that girl in the collage actually does look exactly like how I pictured Elissa. -

It’s like a cake that tastes really bad. The cake is terrible, but the ingredients are fine. Choose your ingredients wisely.
Also, I love the Game of Thrones music, and a lot of other music from movies that I will never watch, but that…[Read more] -

@hope One thing that comes to mind is how Paul quoted the Cretan poet in wherever it is about evil beasts and lazy gluttons. That was a heathen poet, but Paul found one of his sayings profitable. Come to think of it, this is really basically the whole food sacrificed to idols thing all over again.

@Hope, I like this :). So, I just finished Harry Potter, so I’m going to use that as an illustration, if I may.
There’s lots of bad things in Harry Potter, we probably all agree. (I don’t think the magic qua magic was a problem, but that’s another topic.) The morality was. . . lacking. “The ends justify the means” was everywhere. People lie to…[Read more]

@Hope knee-jerk responses can be dangerous but we has one now and we shall just spit it all out so we can organize our thoughts. 😛
As far as music goes, it’s an art form just as much as anything else. The purpose of art— all of it— is to reflect the beauty and order of God’s creation. Fan-fiction, if you will. *wink* We can all tell the…[Read more]

@hope My own opinion is yes. I listen to Game of Thrones music and other things that might be considered bad. I just try to listen to it through other places. (not their channel, for example.) If some random person uploaded it to youtube, I’ll listen because I’m not directly supporting the source. I realize that this method isn’t perfect…[Read more]
