The problem with that is that I have another book where two characters have to pass though a swamp and fight a swamp serpent, and I want to make both testings different. I suppose one way would be to take out the swamp completely and replace it with forest, mountains, or something else, though I still am not sure what sort of test I’d do then…

In a book I’m currently correcting, I have two characters who have to go on a journey to find some armor. There are some tests along the way…don’t leave the path, that sort of thing. But at one point they have to pass though a swamp. Right now I just have them both struck with a irrational fear and they have to resist leaving the path, but I’ve…[Read more]

And then, maybe near the end of the story if he changes, he could give up the fabric as a picture of giving up his bitterness (for some reason I assume he’s going to turn good; am I right about that?)…it could either be something he decides to do. Or he could be forced to used it for something during the climax.
Or, perhaps he could lose it…[Read more]

Sounds like fun. 😉
We live in the country, but once we were were filming a fantasy movie so we were all dressed up. We had to walk down the road to reach the location we were filming at and passed our neighbor’s house where a party was going on. The looks we got were very amusing. 😉

You know your a writer when your favorite part about driving is looking at the faces in the other cars and trying to catch a glimpse of their story.
Yes! And when one of your hobbies is looking up into the semis as they past to see who’s driving them. 😉

Hmm, that’s a good point. And no, I don’t have any interrogation scenes; well, I have one where a bad guy is running the interrogation, but the scene doesn’t go into details.
As to mental manipulation I’m thinking along the lines of keeping a prisoner on bread and water with the promise of food and riches if they give information (though that’s…[Read more]
