Ok, so these three scenes are from Fidelyon, the fantasy novel with the theme of identity (and subthemes of faith and responsibility)
1. The MC, Ethaniel has fled with a jester’s apprentice into a haunted forest to escape a general who has already killed the original bearer of the riddle to find the shield. They’ve figured out the current riddle…[Read more]

@PerfectFifths Ha, I shan’t expect a wolf. XD And he is a fantasy character: short jerkin, trousers, a long cloak with a clasp of crossed spears…
@i-j-anderson Wow! That is… That is actually really close. You’ve caught him in a very rare reflective mood, but still, I can see him there. I LOVE IT!!!

@perfectfifths Yes. Or when he’s sitting on them, staring out over the mountains. When he is riding, he generally carries it lengthwise so it doesn’t get caught in branches. 😀

@Ethryndal Dallan, yes! I’m looking forward to seeing him. 😀
Alright, so I’m going to list a few characters if anyone wants to try to draw them. *grins* *rubs hands*
Ethaniel: A 19-year-old messenger. Blue eyes, dusky hair, a resolute expression. Doesn’t smile much, just because he is serious, not because he is unhappy. He has a guarded air and…[Read more]

@Aratrea Well… Hmm. I wouldn’t say the lessons have been focusing on physical conflicts rather than mental conflicts. It’s just the matter of tying the theme to the conflict. Something like your example of fear and courage is pretty easy to show through conflict. You can show a character running and hiding at the beginning, then standing up and…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy He deserves to be a favorite, the poor guy.
And… I’m not going to use my trilogy for this lesson. It needs major thematic work and I’m not worrying about it right yet. Well, I am, but not here… Anyway, this is for the other novel I’ve mentioned. The one with the positive character arc where the MC’s experiment in living is…[Read more]

This is for my trilogy again. I’m only plotting the points of the disillusionment arc part of it this time because I’m not quite sure of all the details of how I’m matching the plot with the positive character arc yet. (Do you have a lesson about how to weave themes into a story that involve mental and emotional conflict more than physical…[Read more]

Reposting this… cause I thought I posted it but it isn’t showing up. So of there end up being two of these posts, that is why.
@aratrea Hmm, yes. I think I remember that now. The last video I watched was on matching the character arc with the plot arc so that might have had something to do with it. Anyway, I reworked it. I’m pretty happy with…[Read more]

I’m pretty happy with the disillusionment now, though I’m not quite sure how well the postive arc flows.

Hope Ann replied to the topic Amnesia? in the forum Sci-Fi 7 years, 8 months ago
@rachelle Hmm, I don’t know. I mean, there are so many angles you can take. 😀 Amnesia is fun. I’d make sure you are showing the sinfulness of the characters before they start regaining their memories, though. It’s not the past/memories that make them sin, it is their heart.
As for the lost memory… let’s see. Random fun things: you could give…[Read more]

Hope Ann replied to the topic Help me change this in the forum Publishing & Platform 7 years, 8 months ago
@daeus hmm, well, don’t have to use itunes. I just use it because you can go down and change the story really easy and so get links for about a dozen different national stores/sites. I’m not sure how it works it other places or if you could use one Smashwords link for all of them. If you do, let me know how it goes. 🙂

This is a disillusionment arc which spans a trilogy. Or rather the first two books and the first quarter (probably) of the last book before shifting into a positive arc.
The MC’s experiment in living is that good will always win and victory over evil here on earth is inevitable so long as one gives their all to the fight. Her experiment in living…[Read more]
