@mariposa Great topic. I’m looking forward to what other people have to say.
For myself, I haven’t yet built a platform I can really base a business on, but I know that’s mainly my fault for not giving platform building enough attention. I have done a couple things with platform building though, and while some of them did not work, some of them…[Read more]

1. What kind of magazines are you looking for? Art magazines? Writing magazines? Fiction magazines? Something else? The Christian Writers Market Guide has a great index of different publications to submit to if you’re looking for options.
2. The internet is great for this. Figure out who your ideal audience is (age, gender, interests, passions)…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy Ah, well not everybody knows it, obviously. 😂😆
Maybe I should substitute that with a tagline then, like, “take your writing to the next level.”

@Daeus nope, not crazy. But in my experience you don’t even have to click on the link in the description; if you click on the pin, then click it again, it’ll take you back to the link embedded in it. And I think just about everyone knows that about Pinterest, so you might just end up stating the obvious.

@princesswriter Welcome to the bestistest place on the internet!
What are some of your favorite authors? Are you writing anything at the moment?
See you around!

@kate-flournoy @seekjustice @lifeofkatie So, just making sure I’m not crazy here. My sister showed me around on Pinterest a couple days ago and it seemed like someone had to click on your pin to see your description to click on your link to go to your site.
Therefore, I want people to click on my pin, right?
That’s why I have that call to action…[Read more]

@aislinn-mollisong It’s from an old latin medical book and people just use it for filler.

@kate-flournoy Ah, okay. Here are two more examples then.
Don’t ask me why the lines on #1 are short. I designed them a little longer.

Daeus here— I just took one of your templates and put rough lines where I was talking about. If you shrink the text inside those lines, it makes it very neat and tidy and leaves clean, empty edges to frame the quote and make it look complete.

@lifeofkatie Do you have an example of what you’re talking about. I can’t quite imagine it.
And, sure, I’d be interested to know what programs you use.
@kate-flournoy I’m not exactly sure what you mean. :/
I’m using Canva.
I did experiment with a border like you were talking about. Here are three designs. None of them are amazing, but I think…[Read more]

@emily Thanks for praying. My cousin is healing and I think she is home now. Her mom (my cousin Ryan’s wife) actually just had her baby boy so if you could pray for them all that would…[Read more]
