@his-instrument I would love to hear names meaning fire! I know Josiah means “the lord burns, the fire of the lord” and I have always loved that name. What are some that you have?

@his-instrument I’ve also used roots before, although not for character names! That’s actually a really intriguing idea, now that I think about it…
My main use of word roots is for places or things. A fantasy novel that I have the main idea of the plot for already is a good example. I used roots to make up the cities, countries, races, and in…[Read more]

@his-instrument Well, I already am kind of doing some of those (my book is about a super hero who feels like his powers are more curses than blessings.) But ‘flabbergasted.’ Now, that I could use. Totally the kind of thing my nerd character would say–not saying YOU’RE a nerd. It’s just a nerdy word. Lol

@Jason Ooh! I do like that. *writes down in notebook* I will, henceforth, keep that in mind.
*sighs* Naming is great, except when you spend an hour or so doing it. 😛
@his-instrument Yes! The list! 😉 -

@his-instrument I really, really want your root list! I’ve never thought about that before and that’s so so cool and helpful! Just the wolf and friend explanations were really really cool. How did you get this knowledge!!!! It makes me so excited. 🙂 🙂 🙂

@Adry_Grace Yay for Enjolras. 😀 He’s one of my top faves too. And yes, you DO need to find a copy of the book! Look, here’s a link to the kind we have; I don’t know if we bought it here or not, but this is the one we have.…[Read more]

Well @Adry_Grace and @His-Instrument, I just made a long reply to you a few minutes ago, but I had to edit something and now it’s not showing up though I try and try…I’ll come back later I guess and see if I can make it work.

Thank you! Yeah, I like the idea of subtly revealing the theme… In fact, I think that throughout this book, I’m definitely going to go for a subtle approach. =P@Everyone
This idea really intrigues me, because I don’t want it to be just a sappy, everything-is-always-forgiven-and-forgotten-without-consequences type story… I…[Read more] -

@everyone wait for me wait for me wait for me wait for me. I’m a bit late but man do I love this story. Everything about this story.
Judging by the little bit I skimmed previous conversations, I have this to say: @his-instrument never read the book, saw the musical though and that’s close enough. I also like Eponine better than Cosette, much…[Read more]

@his-instrument Ooh! I like lists too. 😀 At one point, I had an entire name devoted to notebooks, then I needed to notebook for another story idea, so that backfired. 😛

@Christi-Eaton I know! I specifically meant to call you over here, but when I remembered again I was already in bed. *scowl* Rest assured, it was no betrayal.

And yes, you should write something on Les Mis.
Oh, and it wasn’t the musical? 😮 I was thinking it was the musical this whole time (that’s why I thought you’d all be hoarse after so…[Read more] -

@his-instrument Ah! Linguini! That was his name. I remember now. Yes, one of Pixar’s best for sure.
Hmmm… Oooh! *giggles* Okay, this is either going to be insanely easy or impossible, I’m not sure which. Here’s mine:
