I love endings. And I hate them. Because endings mean its the end, which stinks when you’re reading someone else’s book and is an amazing mixture of hysterical excitement and depression when you’re writing your own. 🙂
I don’t like tying up my endings with a pretty bow, at least not all the time. Think about The Giver, by Lois…[Read more] -

Novacom was definitely one of my favorites. Probably my top favorite. @christi-eaton, I agree with you about the current episodes– Wooton is my favorite! I feel like the script quality has deteriorated a bit over the years. The quality of the storylines was at its peak around Novacom. Have you herd Malachi’s Message? It’s also one of my…[Read more]

Sorry everyone– I posted that after reading the first page of discussion, before I realized that there were eight pages and the book was already decided! 🙂 I’ll try to join in on the next book… I’m still finishing up school for the summer and probably don’t have time for an extra reading project right now, but I’ll make sure to watch for future books!

Thanks @jadamae! For some reason it never occurred to me that the name and username can be different. And yes, that is an Adventures in Odyssey reference. I figured there would be someone out there who would get it. 🙂 I’m guessing you’re a fan?

I like the thought of the Holy Spirit as the army general! @Kate-flournoy and @Daeus, I have always thought of God the Father as the Judge, and Jesus as the Intercessor/Advocate. But since they’re all one, I guess they’re all parts of the role of Judge… if that make sense at all.
Don’t we serve an awesome God? To have Judge, Intercessor,…[Read more] -

Thanks everybody! @bluejay, I love the book Frindle! And we should totally make bestistest an official word. @ingrid, I do remember you from TeenPact, and @Daeus, Go Ohioans indeed. (O-H…)
@Kate-flournoy, my favorite genre to write is fantasy, which also happens to be my favorite genre to read. @Hope-ann, that is exactly the reason why I…[Read more] -

Hi everyone,
Recently I wrote an allegorical novel in which Jesus and all His angels are portrayed as dragons. And after I wrote all of this, I started thinking. Dragons are never used in the Bible as “good guys,” and in fact represent Satan sometimes. Here’s my question: should a dragon be used to represent Jesus?
Here are my thoughts:
Thought 1:…[Read more] -

Hi Hope Ann!
I love allegory, and I totally understand what you mean– I often struggle to portray the Holy Spirit in allegory as well. I like the idea of a wind and a voice, or maybe even just a voice, accompanied by a tangible, but not visible, presence. (For further inspiration on this idea you might want to look at 1 Kings 19, when Elijah is…[Read more] -

Hi everyone!
I’m new to Kingdom Pen, so I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself (and to say thank you, Greta, for telling me about this site!). I’ve been trying (note the word “trying”) to write novels for five or six years, but I’ve only recently gotten to the point where I can remain somewhat satisfied with a completed story for…[Read more] -
