@emma-l A hearty welcome to you! I just recently heard of Lamplighter books. Any recommendations besides the ones you and @christi-eaton have already mentioned? Are you working on any writing projects right now?
Also my sister loves to listen to Irish music! I wish I could record your Irish whistle, she’d flip!
Glad to have you here! -

@bluejay Ah yes, Rachel Whitaker, how could I forget! Every time they said that I thought of Adventures in Odyssey. :p We watched it as a family and were thoroughly impressed. It’s a great film to capture what happens to a large amount of students coming from a Christian home.
Yes I remember that egg part! I was wondering what the catch would be,…[Read more] -

@Christi-Eaton
Like Chloe said, I find Pinterest to be pretty inspiring.
But also like Kate said, I love to pick a theme and the story usually develops from there. (She’s right about Proverbs being packed with good story starters!)
Other than that, I have a drawer full of ideas I’ve written down over the years for just the time when inspiration…[Read more] -

@daeus I didn’t think that yours would have that problem either! I’ve just seen a lot of similes used to make fun of Scripture and it’s not good.

If it’s not too confusing to jump back to the topic of similes… 🙂
I think the important factor for me is that when using similes (or analogies for that matter) that they are clearly not mocking God or the Bible.
Similes have a very dramatic pull to them when used and I think are very effective is done properly, with respect for God and His…[Read more] -

This is one of the three biggest areas of caution when it comes to any form of entertainment, art, or media. And I think that’s because, as others have stated, God takes what comes out of the mouth very seriously.
But we question if when writing if it’s okay to show that “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that w…[Read more] -

Oh packet cakes! I think we call those boxed cake mixes in my house. I’m telling ya, it takes some good baking talent to make those things, it is possible to mess even those up :p
Hmmm… I’ve never heard of P.G. Wodehouse. What genre is it? -

@leumeister
Scrapbooking… it’s taking memorable “scraps” from your life, say a photo or a concert ticket and putting it along with creative accessories into a book. (similar to a photo book)
Mine usually ends up with lots of glitter in it. It’s enjoyable and a fun way to save your memories. And sometimes uses lots of stickers, which is okay…[Read more] -

@perfectfifths Welcome! We’re so very pleased to have you here!
Ah! I love the violin. I’ve been playing for three years now and it sounds like you’re much more dedicated to practicing than I am, but I’ve been improving on that point. Have you been taking lessons or self-teaching?
Also as far as uploading documents… I’m not sure about that,…[Read more] -
