@overcomer
I’m revisiting old friends that were pleading to have their story told. I’ve been ignoring them for a while. :p It’s middle of the Renaissance time and so far I’ve been calling it The Duretish Name.
I’m working on chapter one right now and trying to see which old ideas with fit with the new ones. -

@hope So is the princesses secret dancing castle a hideout from the rebels? Does the shoemaker play a role in your story? I always wondered what the poor shoemaker thought. hehehe!
Oh you’re going to have so much fun with this retelling. The adaptions of this story make it one of my favorite fairy tales, so I’m so glad you’re making your own! The…[Read more] -

Here’s a snop of the story as it was written from it’s German origins.
Twelve princesses, each more beautiful than the last, sleep in twelve beds in the same room. Every night, their doors are securely locked. But in the morning, their dancing shoes are found to be worn through as if they had been dancing all night. The king, perplexed, promises…[Read more]

In case you’d like some inspiration, Ruth Sanderson’s paintings and telling of the story is my favorite and the best! You should look it up.
As to what I like and what irritates me about the story, I’ll go remember it and come back 🙂 -

Sounds delicious to me! I agree with Kate though, but your percentage gets the point across! You’ll probably go down in history with this maxim written by your name and be knighted for such ingenious thoughts.
Ooo. I do like the term “writing gurus”. *goes to write that down on a piece of paper I’ll probably lose* -

Nice job! @bluejay I read that book forever ago. It was fun seeing it brought to life! I would just echo what Rosey said about not having to move all the time 🙂

*jumps in to this convo with both feet* I never understood why writers used that phrase-ology in the first place. How else would I jump in, with just one foot? But I have two! And it’s just not possible to jump in with three. Despite the fact that some people in this conversation have more than the usual number of thumbs, I have a normal number of…[Read more]

Eat yogurt covered grapes and ice cream while you write. Seriously it’s very inspiring. Unless you have allergies.
On a more serious note… Watching people is very helpful to writing. How do they really react in situations, hands motions, nervous habits etc.?

@bluejay That’s okay. I’ll just tell you what I’m feeling and you can tell me what’s wrong with me! And if you HAVE to look down my throat I guess we could do a video chat :p

It’s not as scary as you think to let your story be edited and critiqued by others. It’s actually the one of the most beneficial things you can do for your book.

@daeus I’d be glad to give your master piece a going through if you’d like another reader! Although I don’t have anything to trade right now, but that’s okay cause I like editing other people’s work. I may have to work on it kinda slowly right now, but I would have more time late spring. 🙂
