@That_Writer_Girl_99 you’ve already got tons of advice and all that, but if you ever need specific tips or anything, hit me up! (I’ll probably respond faster on facebook than here though, to be honest :/) I do archery (started a few years back on a 20 lb and can now shoot 60+ lb) and have used recurve, long bow, and compound. I’ve made my own…[Read more]

I think Kylo just might be my new favorite villain…
Ahhhh, Porgs! <3
So did you have a favorite part? I like the Chewbacca and Porg scene XD
As for Leia… I’m not an expert on Star Wars, but I have heard that she can’t use the force like Luke can, so I’m thinking maybe someone else saved her.…[Read more]

@Ethryndal I have actually had this problem before in the past. Basically, I second what Elizabeth has said. Don’t push yourself to keep writing while you’ve got this big problem. Sit back and work it out.
– What do you actually want the main theme to be?
– Can you revise the characters and their arcs and actions to fit that theme more…[Read more] -

@Jenwriter17 Yeeah I just don’t think they actually have any good chemistry. Sure they could like each other, but an actual relationship…wouldn’t work out, in my opinion.

So…I can understand why this would be a problem, and though I’m not entirely sure what the answer is, I can offer a few thoughts and maybe they’ll help? Or not?
It kinda sounds like you’re pressuring yourself to figure this out quickly, so I’d suggest slowing down. Sit back and look at the story. Maybe go through your book and write down how…[Read more]

Hey guys. I’ve run into a problem.
Over the past year or so, my story has changed drastically from what I originally intended—and I’m not even done writing it yet. I started out aiming for a specific end result, but as the story progressed, different plot threads would virtually appear on my page, helping fix certain issues, but also altering…[Read more]

@reaganramm You’re back!! Where have you been?! X)
Let’s see…
- I need help making my characters and character arcs more realistic and deep
- I need help making meaningful themes and symbols
- I need help with the show-don’t-tell concept
- I especially need help with self-doubt, and putting my identity in Christ instead of my work
- I need…

@Jenwriter17 I like Han, but if 70 year old Harrison Ford played young Han I would be happier. XD
Okay so maybe this new actor dude won’t be too bad? I don’t know. I’m just reserving judgement until I see the actual movie.
As for Rey and Kylo…no offense to anyone, but I absolutely don’t like them together. 😉

@Jenwriter17 as Elizabeth said, the plot points of writing a movie script is the same as a fiction novel. And as Rochellaine said there’s a lot of different people who take part in the storytelling.
My #1 tip: imagine every single word you write as happening in a movie. If you can see it perfectly in the movie style, then write down the small…[Read more]

Tell her to come check us out, I’m sure she could learn something. *grins*
@rochellaine gave a pretty good answer as to what the differences are, but I’d like to point out that there are also many similarities between fiction writing and screenwriting. The plot points are the same, though they happen over shorter periods of time, and ideas like…[Read more]
