@ethryndal Oh, I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels like this. I have a story I love like no other story idea, ever, but it hates me in return, so I’m giving it some space. It’s gone through three total re-writes, and yet none of the awesomeness I see in my head comes out on paper. So, I’m taking a break *starts humming the song from…[Read more]

@TheAcornMan The naval history is the BEST. Have you seen the A&E mini-series Horatio Hornblower? If that period nautical stuff is something you like you’d probably love that. It’s one of my favorite series.
Heh…the main one that comes to mind (and another more minor one) was a rip-off from the Viking Quest book series by Lois Walfrid…[Read more] -

@Catwing It would be if those were in his book… 😛 His time-travel element isn’t like that though…

@Daeus Oh right, To Soar ON Eagles. It didn’t give me any Native American vibes till Kate mentioned it (thanks a lot Kate. XD) but I don’t think it’s the best one anyway. Yet.

@Glitter-Ocelot GLITTER! *reverberating cackles* I am the glitter elf of the forum, and I am pleased to welcome you here. *drowns the forum in glitter* Believe me, the fact that you stated your MBTI type right off the bat has automatically endeared you to the hearts of half our population. Me, on the other hand… I’m endeared by the nerrrrrrrd.…[Read more]

@Emily The part of my brain that is so done with life is strongly suggesting I abandon everything and go live by the ocean and eat chocolate for the rest of my days. However, the sentimental side of my brain loves this book and totally agrees with you. So yeah, thanks. I hope my sanity is recoverable. 😀

And yes sometimes we do imitate Americans but are far more likely to imitate the Russian accent.
Russian accent? That is beyond cool. XD

I am starting to get into a really bad habit of not reading. I kinda need to be kicked for it lol.
I may or may not be guilty of this also. Maybe I should melt my own chair.

@daeus Ooh, I like that…although it is a little long. Of course, the title ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ is long too. XD Maybe instead of ‘who’ you could say ‘that’….I don’t know…weird Snapper preferences.

@ethryndal Oh yeah. Taking a break from something like that is very good. Not only do you want to prevent yourself from a burnout, but also, it can lead to something even better, like what @mariposa said. I’ve done that multiple times. Planned out a story, begun writing it, then stopped. In fact, I have more than thirty stories in my files that…[Read more]

Heeey… I need advice…
I’ve been considering putting my current book on hold temporarily/possibly forever and writing something different, the reason behind this being that I’ve just hit several plot holes and character issues that will require an excessive amount of brain power to overcome. This has been a troubled book, as I’ve had to…[Read more]

You know you’re a writer when you have an argument with yourself and you realize the two voices in you head are characters from your WIP.

@TheAcornMan I actually did write, when I was younger. They were mostly rip-offs, of course.
I have thought of doing it since, but never very seriously…I think I’m happy enough with my sister’s writing (I’m sort of ‘editor-in-chief’) that I don’t really want to do my own, and I know I wouldn’t be as naturally good at it as she is. 😛 So I don’t…[Read more] -
