@Leumeister I know this is SO helpful, but, pretty much what everyone else said. 😛 Especially about the need for a question.
And do you mean, can we tell the character on the left is a girl? I think that’s what you meant. That ‘left’ made you write ‘right’. 😛
I can tell, since you mentioned it, but I might be unsure if I didn’t know. -

@S-G-Dewey I really really like the name Douglas; from what you said I think that could fit him. (I have a brother named Douglas, but I love the name even if it wasn’t one of my family members’. 😀 )
@Ethryndal START THE SILMARILLION. Happy six months indeed…but START IT. It ain’t a breeze ta get through, but it’s sure good (obviously aside…[Read more]

@Daeus I think I like the one with gold title and subtitle (the silver sword between the two gold lines just looks perfect) and silver name best, but this last one second best, so whichever. 😀
And I’d totally pick up a book with this cover in the library.

Emma Flournoy replied to the topic Book Cover Opinions #2 in the forum Art 9 years, 3 months ago
@Daeus Hm…it might. Wouldn’t hurt to try and see, at any rate. 😀 And the silver sword between would make a nice divider.

@Daeus I like the one with the gold title better, but if it could have a little darker sheen that would be great. 😀 The sheen on the silver title’s darker and shadowy-er and so shivery mysterious feeling, but like Rolena said, the gold stands out better.

@Daeus those changes seriously helped it look more historical fictiony. It’s great.
I like the second one better, with the gleam on the words.
I think it might look better though if the gold was a little darker, whether you put it for the title or the subtitle, or with or without a gleam. It looks pretty similar to the silver. -

@Daeus Neato. I really liked Sworn to Vengeance too, but I know what you’re saying.
Dire Recompense is sure nicely original.

Emma Flournoy replied to the topic Book Cover Opinions #2 in the forum Art 9 years, 3 months ago
@Daeus I meant the whole cover, though if you lighten that up you might have to lighten him up a little too. I love his outfit though, and I don’t think the stern look is bad, unless he’s not a very hard character. (I got the impression he was. 😉 )
And I think changing the scarlet font would help a lot. I guess, red and black…that color combo…[Read more] -

@Daeus I think it could be a little less dark; the over all color. Edwin is supposed to look a tad shady though, isn’t he?
But the over all black impression does make it seem a little…modernish and murderish? It makes it look less like a Dickensy historical fiction to me, but that’s what I get the impression it’s supposed to be more like.
Maybe…[Read more] -

@Ethryndal I like Silver Flame. 🙂

@Ethryndal I love The Silver Spark; I think The Spark of Dimwood (not the Dimwood—less cluttered sounding) is good too. Ooh, I actually think that’d be my favorite—The Spark of Dimwood.
I’m so glad you like Rody. Those sound like incredibly sweet/funny uses of the nickname by all those friends. 😀

Write about a shy protagonist who really likes cake but is afraid to tell his family because they are all extremely vegan.
@Winter-Rose that would be so cute!
And @Ethryndal, the extrovert who’s invisible— 😀 XD 😀
@Dragon-Snapper what about a school for dragons—it’d have dragon youngsters and courses on all things dragon, and dragon teacher…[Read more]

@Ethryndal Late to the party, but @Christi-Eaton‘s right about his name. 🙂
I’m starting to consider Rodyn having several different titles. Like, to the common people, his name would be something that reflects a spark of hope, even though they don’t really know who he is. The villains refer to him as something of a nuisance or a threat. And the…
