@slylilhuntress If I may add something to my list of book recommendations (told you I’d probably forget something), I think you should check out James Herriot’s books! They’re a series of semi-non-fictional, biographical stories about a Scottish veterinarian (his real name is Alf Wight) who moved to mid-England to work with animals in the mid…[Read more]

@rochellaine Hey! We were just talking about historical books in Writer’s Corner, and I forgot to ask you: Have you ever read or heard of James Herriot? He was a Scottish veterinarian who moved to mid-England to work with animals in the mid 1930s. And he wrote a series of really fun books about his career and his life! It’s a series of four…[Read more]

@rochellaine *shrugs* Fiction is fine, too.
Have you read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith? It’s historical fiction
Hm. I’ve never heard of those books

@rochellaine Thanks! I’m glad it’s not a bad idea
It’s been such a long time since I’ve read Little Women. I can’t even vaguely remember any details. XD They did the same thing in Princess Academy, though, if you’ve read that (then again, it’s a fantasy book…)
What’s your favorite historical book? Mine is Night by Elie Wiesel. It’s an…[Read more]

@rochellaine If I write one of them it would probably be that one (or a combination of them all. ;3)
It is steeping. 😁 Culture developments.
(If you are wondering why it I’m still working on it. I stopped, wrote another book and planned it’s series. Then when I came back to Firebird I scrapped a lot of it, changed POVs, and realized it needed a…[Read more] -

@rochellaine Your topic gives me an idea! Maybe someone could make a topic where first, someone starts a story, and writes the first few sentences/paragraphs, and then tags someone else who extends that story with a few more paragraphs, and then tags yet another person, etc.
Obviously, I’ll wait for awhile to let everyone catch your topic first 😉

@dekreel Yes! I have heard of James Herriot. I have a (big) picture book with several of his stories illustrated, and I don’t know what the original books looked like, but I really enjoyed the stories in that. I’ll have to look up the show! (I watch mostly stuff from before 1967, but I’ll make the exception to prove the rule here. 🙂 )
