  • Hi Hope,

I can only think of two cases in the bible where people lied in war like situations. Granted, neither of these were strictly war situations, but to a degree they were. The first was when Rahab lied about the spies. The second was when King David fled from Saul to Ahimelech the priest. The first instance resulted in the escape of the…[Read more]

  • Though not a big theme in the trilogy I’m writing, lying will probably come up several times. I hold that lying in ordinary circumstances, white lies, lying to get out of trouble…it’s all wrong. But what about lying in war? After all, we aren’t to murder, but killing in self-defense or in war is not a sin.

This is a topic that I’ve wavered…[Read more]

  • Hello Everyone,

I’m Daeus Lamb. I’m new to this sight, but very much enjoying it. I skipped over this introduction section when I first started out, but I imagine that when this forum was created the words “Start here” were intended to mean start here, so just pretend that I actually made this post a while ago.

I live in London, OH and am the…[Read more]

I know. I like to have ‘true love’ more along the lines of one person giving their life for another rather than someone kissing the first pretty girl they come across in the forest. 🙂

Rooglewood is hosting the contest. You can find out more Here. Last year I entered their Beauty and the Beast contest. I didn’t win, but it was fun.

Oh wow! Sounds like a farm. 🙂

I have not heard of that contest. Who is hosting it?

Ah! Yes! That is one of my biggest pet peeves with some of those fairytales. They KISS a guy, that they JUST MET!!! Anyway. 😛
That really sounds intriguing! I’d love to read that! 🙂

  • While previewing a post for KP I took a closer look at the introduction I had written:
“Receiving criticism, no matter how constructive, is always a hard pillow to swallow.”
A pillow is hard to swallow no matter what!

    Hello Mallory!!!

So delighted to have you on the forum! Actually it’s wonderful to have all of you!

Yes, starting the very first topic can be daunting, but you’re breaking the ice. 🙂

And if you don’t know your way around the forum it can be confusing. So don’t be shy about asking questions. 🙂

The ones we raise for mean are Cornish Crosses, I think (I’m not completely sure). We have about two dozen layers too and they are a mix, including Buff Orpingtons and Barred Rocks.

I’m writing the retelling of Sleeping Beauty for the Rooglewood ‘Five Magic Spindles’ Contest…have you heard of it? Anyway, the basic story is somewhat the same…[Read more]

    Hello, Hello!!
Ooh! You have chickens. What breed?
Chickens…brings back memories…I used to be the chicken girl… Anyway. 😛

Oh, the retelling of Sleeping Beauty sounds interesting. How are you going about that one?

Wow. Thanks— that will be so helpful. Is there anything you guys don’t think of?

  • The only outward signs of such conversations I ever seem to exhibit come in the form of wide, silly grins plastered all over my face whenever one of my characters says something particularly witty or unexpected. My family calls it to my attention all the time, but so far, I don’t think any have actually caught me in the act of speaking aloud. But…[Read more]

    Sounds great!

  • Ha! That sounds at once positively ridiculous and fun. I’ll just have to make sure I don’t do it out loud in public, though I could seriously see myself doing that.

Thanks for joining us Daniel. It’s great to have your input.

Mainly reading them over and over and over and correcting them more each time (I normally take one chapter at a time). 🙂 I have several friends who are writers and we correct each others works. Their help has been invaluable and I think I finally have my stories straight in both books and all major changes worked out (one book I decided to extend…[Read more]

Hey, Kingdom Pen is actually working on a list of the best 100 writing songs. We’ll try and get that finished up and make it available for you to download on the website. 🙂 Audiomachine is listed, along with some softer more emotional music! 😀
