@David… please don’t be toast. We have too many weird persons around this forum already. 😛
@Rosey— they certainly do steal the spotlight! Denholm is the favorite by majority vote, and nothing I do for my poor real MC will change that. *sigh* Poor darling Harold. Everything conspires against you.
Also those jokers are the kind of characters…[Read more] -

Wait a minute, I’m not a OYANer or a coffee drinker either. Especially not the latter. Tea and chocolate for me.

Kate, Cobalt is your favorite kind of joker. I love those guys, so I just had to make one. XD
Well… lovely. So’s Denholm. 😀 And good point about the understatements. That can really be effective too.
Glad I was able to be of service, Hannah!

@Daeus— the ghostwriter greets you.
@Ezra— me? N….nooooo… that’s not me. I seem to be the only writer here who was never an OYANer and doesn’t drink coffee. 😛
@Joy— how about you, Joy? Do you drink coffee?

Hey, you’ve published? I’d love to hear about your experience. Did you self publish or have a publisher? How did you advertise? How’s it turning out?
And say, what’s the historical fiction book on?

Yeah, that’s Kate’s ghost there. She really died back in the 1600s when folks still talked like that, but, well, stranger things happen here.

Ooh… what a deep question. Humor is not my strongest point, but I flatter myself I can do it well enough, so I’ll share some tips. Maybe…
Okay, first tip: inside jokes. Often these are driven home by a look or a secret smile or some subtextual passing of information between two characters.
As a quick example, say one of your characters once…[Read more] -

Greetings, O Shadow Hawke. Join us. Our joy is immeasurable. We are immensely gratified that such a one as thou hast seen fit to count thyself amongst us… one of us… in madness and the joy of madness mingled together with laughter, that our fellowship may be the fellowship of all things mad and beautiful.
That… was totally weird. I did not…[Read more]

Another thing to add to this discussion… if you can call it a discussion without any opponents… is that a long conversation, realistically, will wander from one subject to another. Not that it will be rambling, but that one topic will bring up another point that needs discussing, and the conversers (not a word, but who cares) will take…[Read more]

Hey that’s a good quote, Mark Kamibaya. (Sorry, we have more than one Mark here now) Who said it?
And good point. I like that. That basically sums it up for me. -
