I just looked up the genre conventions of dystopian fiction and my novel includes all of them, though they are pretty severely underdeveloped 😀

I’ll have to think over all the stuff you’ve said, but I did just want to point out that he does move from the Capital to his current house. He grew up in the Capital and that’s where his business was. He moved to his cool garden after the financial crisis.

Yes, I’d thought about some of those consequences but I hadn’t actually thought about Sapphire’s mother. Scrivener doesn’t have Australian spelling (Word does though) so I have to use Canadian spelling, but it doesn’t recognise all those unique Aussie words 😛

@catwing I added most of my character names to the dictionary on my computer, but new ones still come up with red lines, particularly Yilla for whatever reason.
