@seekjustice @rochellaine @alia @jenwriter17 @dekreel @daughteroftheking It’s been a while since I’ve been around… Not writing at the moment, but I thought I’d pop in lol
Oh it’s been over a year o_o

Ooh that’s tricky. Are you finding it hard to come up with subplots or just integrate them into the main plot?

I definitely understand. Second drafts are so hard. What in particular are you struggling with?

That’s really good to hear. I’m going to add them to my Goodreads right now 😀
Hopefully it will be intriguing. I pantsed the whole thing (which I do not do) so its not in great shape at the moment but at least the first draft is done and I’ve got something to work with. The half-elf is awesome. Definitely one of my favourite characters…[Read more]

I’ll definitely look into her then! I enjoy books like that if they’re well written 😀
Thank you! The one I just finished is a dark(ish) fantasy thriller about two brothers, who may or may not hate each other, who have to uncover an ancient conspiracy with the help of an immortal half-elf. The one I’m working on plotting at the moment is a…[Read more]

Ooh, I’ve heard of Tessa Afshar but I’ve never read any of her books. What are some of her plots about?
I’ve read some really good books lately, mostly non-fiction and adult historical fiction! My writing’s been pretty good too. I finished another novel a couple of days ago which was really good and I’ve got plans to start another one very soon.

@alia not too bad at all. Very tired from all the crazy holidays, but doing very well. How about you? Read any good books or written anything lately?

I am keen to write it! I think it will be a lot of fun.
Yes I am! Completely certified 😀 The new ones are Bull Arabs, which is an aussie breed which look like Great Danes but a little bit smaller. They’re from a pound in Queensland and just need someone to look after them and train them until they’re adopted.
I love Pyrenees and…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 As I’ve already explained all I’ve done in 2021 is be cuddled up in bed listening to an audiobook so it’s been pretty good.
I’m not sure about it being well-written at the moment, but thanks for the sentiment 😛 My next one is a historical novel set in an alternate world (fantasy, but without magic? Or anything…[Read more]

I’m procrastinating getting out of bed. I’m usually up very early to walk my dogs, but its a public holiday and it’s raining, so its eight thirty and I’m still not out of bed lol.
My novel is still underwraps, but its a fantasy thriller novel with two brothers who may or may not hate each other as the main characters who must…[Read more]

Not sure, so far no one even got the full blurb yet 😀 It is a proper fantasy though.
Yep, I knitted them! And yes, it is summer *pretends I’m not huddled under three blankets and still cold*
No, we don’t have any streaming services unfortunately, due to being rural and only have limited internet 🙁 So we just watch DVDs and a bit…[Read more]

Please keep reading Spinning Silver, I can’t guarantee you’ll love it but I was also very bored for the first bit and ended up rating it my favourite Fantasy book of 2020.

I just finished my “secret project” on the 30th and it’s the first full novel for ages, so I’m very happy about that. I haven’t done anything short except articles for KP but I want to do some more short stories this year because I miss them.
We didn’t do anything fancy for Christmas and it was just my immediate family and my…[Read more]

The future so far has consisted of being snuggled up in bed listening to an audiobook while it rains. So it’s going pretty good.
I’m tired but pretty good! Can’t wait for the holidays to end so thing’s get a little less crazy.

Hello y’all. I’m currently in 2021 while the rest of you are stuck in 2020.
(Sorry, I just had to do that)
How are you?

I don’t have many opinions on the Civil War in fiction. I literally don’t think I have ever read a book set in the Civil War? Ever?? Nope, I’m pretty sure I haven’t. However! I do have opinions on the Revolutionary War. My family is English (my grandparents came out to Aus in the late 60s, and my cousins and other family members still…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic What was the most difficult scene for you to write and why? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 11 months ago
That’s quite hard for me to answer! Death scenes are hard for me to write emotionally speaking, especially as someone who has had two very beloved family members die traumatically. It’s just hard for me to treat them as blase as I used to when I was a younger writer and I struggle with them quite a lot.
More mentally though, stupid…[Read more]

I’m around too if you ever want to drop me a line 😀 We sound like we’re at pretty similar stages in writing. I started writing when I was ten or eleven but I’ve been writing seriously (for me, that means with the goal of being traditionally published) since I was about sixteen, so almost five years now working towards being…[Read more]

Why The Horse and His Boy?? I am remarkably curious. I didn’t really grow up sheltered at all, so when my more conservative friends (this happens to me in real life just as much as on the internet) say they weren’t able to read/watch certain things I get confused 😀
